Fav country in g40 now that its out

Haven’t played yet, but I say Germany or Italy. I like Italy because they can be a little piece #$% (there I didn’t type it!) then rise up take Africa, and fend off the #!%#!* U S A invasion!!!

Also Germany’s always been my favorite.

I said Italy because they can go from 10 IPCs to 40+ if the dice Gods are favourable in the first round and, of course, if they are controlled by an competent commander.

I’m surprised so few said Japan. I’d say they’re my second favourite.

I also like fighting defensive battles. China and France are good for that.

I love the United Kingdom, because of their extensive hand in every theater of the war.

I’ve never played as any of the Axis, but I’d like to play as any three of them.

FOUR people voted France? Weird. I mean, France would be my favourite if they weren’t doomed to be useless by their first turn. I mean, the colonial infantry and the sparse ships could win a battle or two, but nothing beyond that.

I’d want to controll France as the allies, but I wouldn’t want them to be my only power. They can have some fun with their destroyer, but other than that their infantry are next to useless.

I was really hoping for a Free France rule where they could collect income and mobilize troops (maybe just infantry and art) in Africa. I’m not sure if adding this will imbalance the game too much, though. I’d still like to try it out, at least to not doom the French to complete uselessness.
