Yes planes can pass over any zone that contain enemy ships, enemy planes, or enemy units. Planes cannot pass over neutral countries. In sbr’s they have to fight their way in if escorted or not if they are intercepted. After the interception or not then they get shot at by aaa and then if they survive that they get to bomb the factories and the tac bomber’s can bomb the airfields and naval bases. You are right that in the older version the aa was always active but not anymore. Hope this helps! :-)
How many Air Bases and Naval Bases are there?

For the entire Global game, just how many Air Bases and Naval Bases are there?
I want to get mine ready from Litko for the game.
-
Pacific has 16 air and Europe has 14 air, for a total of 30. Pacific and Europe each have 16 naval, for a total of 32.
-
Wow! that many air and naval bases. In Pacific 1940 there were only 11 airbases (9 Allies and 2 Japanese) and 10 naval bases (8 Allies and 2 Japanese). Kriehund, are you saying that they added 6 more naval bases and 5 more air bases just on the Pacific side of Global?
-
No. That’s how many base counters come with the games. It didn’t occur to me that Shakespeare may be asking how many are in the setup. The Europe setup has 9 airbases and 11 naval bases.

Oh, that make since, and alot better. I was wondering how so many bases whould have worked. Thanks Krieghund……
