Besides, the Soviets aren’t even in the Pacific version, and West India is balanced by British Columbia, so it’s even there and the European UK doesn’t get more…
Larry talks about France
-
The brittany territory will have UK units too….so it may be a tougher nut to crack than it looks
-
Larry did say that Germany WILL take France unless something goes terribly wrong… With what Calvin said, it is absolutely impossible for France to hold. I would not say France is over-represented. My only concern is that Germany will devote large numbers of units to the Western attack but then have to build up or transfer those units back to the eastern front… stealing precious time from a possible early strike on the USSR, before they are able to equip themselves for war…
We can guess at German units on the Eastern Front, but I have not heard any predictions from anybody yet. I can only assume that it won’t be so many that they can attack the USSR outright, but will have to build up for a turn.
As for France: it looks like Larry got it right here. UN, at least, should be pleased.

As you can see, I fail at quoting someone from another place. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Sorry, don’t know how either. I just avoid doing it.

Your problem is that you put a slash (/) on your first quote thingy.
So it should be just
TEXT
[quote.] (first box without the dot in it)
Also yes, I am surprised he answered. I would have thought he would have been busy with preping for GenCon.

No problemo. These quote things are quite wonky.
I wonder if that was the set-up for just Metropolitan France? Maybe he didn’t list the units that are spread throughout the French Empire? 'Cause I asked whether or not they’d be a speedbump in France proper, not the entire Empire.

Are you thinking French Indo-China will have 1 or 2 infantry. I don’t see how France could have 12 infantry in France proper… doesn’t that seem like a lot?

Well, 12 infantry split between Vichy, the Paris territory, and Normandy, all defending against what will probably be a massive Wehrmacht onslaught, supported by tactical bombers, and then there’s the Italians you have to worry about…

If that’s the case, I’d say 6 in Paris, 3 or 4 in Brittany and 2 or 3 in Vichy

Okay… fair enough. I am only assuming that Calvin agrees with you. I forgot there were 3 French territories in France.

I don’t know if I agree. I would prefer the 12 inf in France itself instead of almost half of them scattered, but I think it’ll be scattered
-
Well it would make sense if it was 6 infantry in Paris territory, three in Vichy, three in Normandy. And of course the tank, fighter, and artillery is all in the Paris territory.
-
Eh… whatever I guess, it doesn’t matter too much to me. :-)

6 inf is kind of a lot for just one territory (even if it is the capital). I bet it’ll be more like 4 inf in Paris, 3 in Normandy/Brittany, 2 in Vichy, and the other 3 in the colonies (i.e. two in north africa and one in the equitorial african colonies). Then the more advanced units will be in Paris also

@Dylan:
France is too powerful :-o
:? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?
Germany will probably be able to attack France with about 20 inf, 5 art, 5 mech, 3 tanks, 6 ftrs, 6 tacs, 3 bombers20 inf wow, I guess I’m just not use to huge games.
-

Japan starts with eight infantry in Pac 40. In terms of Revised or 42, six is a ton, but for the 40 games, it’s reasonable. I imagine Germany will start with like 10.

But it’s France, they were next to dead after the low countries fell.

Not necessarily. They still had quite a number of soldiers available at their disposal. It’s just that the best elements of the Army was sent up to Belgium and was floored, with the remnants escaping at Dunkirk.

Thats 100 IPC worth of units. and I think i saw a tank in the picture. Its in Africa.
The picture that we saw doesn’t reflect the actual set-up (also fetured in the picture are American troops in Poland and French ships in the Indian Ocean).

That’s a good point, but France is one of the Allies, who all started with barely any infantry. Also, Larry said himself that “France will fall” so I don’t think he put half of Frances infantry on one territory
