Can the uk sub retreat in z42 instead of submerge?

Under item #2 allied fighters cannot be allocated as a hit allocation because they are not rolling on the attack so they are ignored.

Also, Under item #1 if your carrier is defending and has fighters from allied players they can be allocated as hits on defence and roll out as well.

of course some of this is totally bogus and is totally unrealistic.but oh well.

The UK Battleship has the ability to move out of combat with the submarine or even move out of combat by engaging in combat elsewhere. The submarine does not like the UK Battleship in SZ 13.

But as was mentioned, if you are going this route, and I like it, to a point, why not bring the submarine with you in future?

Anyway, ever think of bringing a fighter and just killing that BB and landing an infantry on Gibraltar to prevent England from sinking your fleet?

Sankt is correct. The SUB may still chose to leave the SZ in COMBAT movement phase of their upcoming turn. However, if the SUB does not combat mvoe out, then Comabt will occur with the new fleet.

I just looked at the Harris rules, and it does say that the land units cannot retreat into a country that only a plane came from. However, it also says that the planes can retreat, and all land units stay. To this point, my group has used the avalon hill game rules to the word, just so we don’t have people constantly wanting to change the rules. The rules affect everyone equally, so who really cares what they are. However, if the larry harris rules are more specific about the ambigueities of the game rules, then maybe we’ll have to switch.

Subs always can only hit naval units. It doesn’t actually make a difference in which step they fire when an enemy destroyer is present, as long as you can keep track. I prefer to roll black die for subs, white die for fighters, and in this manner get 2 types of units rolled hopefully in one toss of the die.
