There is definitely no tech development in the game rules.

RE: Official Color Designations with Initial IPC's
Well, I am pretty well color blind when it comes to all the shades
used for all the different countries all across the Axis Allies universe.
I never got a definitive answer to my question that I asked earlier about colors for AA 1914.
So I thought I’d post the definitive answer for AA 1914.

Tanks Special Ability to Remove Defender hits!
Attacking Tanks will have a special ability to absorb hits. This ability does not apply to Defending tanks.
The Attacker may reduce the number of hits scored against him by the number of tanks the Attacker has in battle.
For each tank the Attacker has he may remove one die that scored a hit on him from the Defender!

RE: The Great War 1914-1918: Clash of Empires
I thought I had been following this thread, but I have not seen any link to any map or box art etc??

RE: Zeppelins
OK German only
Cost 10 IPCs
Attacks on 5/6 Reduces IPC’s by 1 for each hit.
Can target infantry and armor on “tactical” missions.
Can be attacked only by fighters on IPC bombing missions or by fighters and artillery on “tactical” bombingTakes 2 damage; removes damage like a battleship removes
Range 6
Ideas Criticisms Comments
I’d really like to get this one right.
My game will have zeppelins!

RE: Zeppelins
Seriously, before Zeppelins disappear from this front page,
any one else have any input for Zeppelin rules?
I want to make it work within the context of the game.
I read about thier role and it was far more extensive than I thought.
Even on the Eastern front.
Any additional ideas would be appreciated.

RE: New preview
We’re looking forward to see how Zeppelins, trench warfare, rails and cavalry work!
Oh wait, ……
Nevermind.

RE: Diplomacy Board substitute for the AA1914 board?
OK Flashman, opportunity:
do a diamond board of Europe stretched into India, without Sub Saharan Africa.
Can it be done?
-
RE: Zeppelins
I like the idea of high and low altitude bombing, were Zeppelins able to actually avoid fighters by flying higher?
And were not Zeppelins as fast as fighters?
I recall reading somewhere that fighters had trouble keeping up with them,
perhaps only fighters already pre postioned in their path can intercept them?
-
Zeppelins
Zeppelins: move 2 or 3? should be faster than ships
may remain in the air above the sea, doesn’t have to land?
acting as strategic bombers only reduce IPC by 1or 2 or 3?
cost as much as a battleship??
only available to Germany
can be hit by artillery? on a roll of 6?
can be hit by fighters? on rolls of 5 & 6?
need 2 or 3 hits to take down?
What say you all? Any ideas? Input? Insight?
Just thinking outloud.

RE: Diplomacy Board substitute for the AA1914 board?
I like that, perhaps too a cumulative amount of those supply centers triggers victory?? !!
-
RE: Diplomacy Board substitute for the AA1914 board?
Will just have to wait and see then, Europe just looks so small on the rendering.
Do the Diplomacy boards vary in size? 24 x 24 does seem small to me.

Diplomacy Board substitute for the AA1914 board?
Just thinking outloud, I wonder if because the Africa campaign is just so
insignificant, in historical fact it had no influence upon the massive Western
and Eastern Front efforts, that we jettison that half of the board to concentrate
on Europe.
The Diplomacy map contains all the correct borders and countries, perhaps some
minor border adjustment might be needed, but it appears it could well indeed
be able to accomodate all the armies with enough elbow room.
What do you all think?

RE: Test Play Setup
I don’t quite understand the reasoning to include Africa,
which as far as I know had no battles to speak of
involving a thousand men on either side.
Can anyone correct that understanding?
Is that right?
To me it seems a wasted opportunity.
