Hello guys, coming back to 42 2nd edition after playing Global War 36 for a nice little BBQ, Beer and Axis and Allies event tomorrow with some good old friends. I might play UK this game and I wanted to know if the attack on sz37 with all available is still the preferred action for turn 1 as this might be the only chance for the UK to take out japaneses capital ships Another possibillity would be to just strafe the japanese fleet in SZ37 and retreat all units to the SZ 35 or 31. Retreating to 35 is more risky as more japanese air and naval units have enough range to attack. Retreating to SZ 31 should be pretty safe (don´t have the board in front of me to crosscheck).
Any thoughts on this? My first buys with UK would be 2 Bombers to India 1st turn (good for counter attacking the japanese fleet if they decides to attack the rest of the UK fleet) Also the bomber which landed in Kazahk first turn can be used for that counter attack. Turn 2 I would buy 3 Fighters for India to hold it. Of course Germany would not threaten London in this szenario.

@kilroynothere Hey Kilroy, yes the last 2 weeks were quite busy. We had to do lot´s of stuff with school stuff for our kids and my wife is sick now the second week in a row. It´s just a simple flu but since she got Covid last year every small infection like this leaves her sick for at least two weeks now. But I think I will be ready to continue our game this weekend as my parents will visit us and I have some spare time then. The following weekend will be totally awesome. We have planned a Global War 36 game with some other fellars from Europe and me from Friday till Sunday. As this is the first time for me playing this game face to face I am thrilled.

things are ok in the old european part of the world. Always intense discussion between politicians from all parties how and if to support Ukraine. Apart from that it is a extremly mild winter and way too warm. But our kids are not sick now which does not happen too often. I have to travel to a customer tomorrow who is located in Cologne. That will provide me some spare time to proceed playing TripleA in the hotel.

@kilroynothere yes there is a possibillty that I loose London. Let´s see how that works out.

@kilroynothere hey Kilroy, yes crazy does reflect the last couple weeks pretty well. School has finally started again and COVID is getting back to us. Our oldest got it the second time as well as my wife. We are pretty that it were the same symptoms as last time and not worse. Will continue tomorrow with the game. Meantime I hope you and your family are safe.

@kilroynothere There we are. Glad to hear you had a good time at soccer. My youngest lately decided to stop playing soccer in our local club and focus only on her ballet class.
I am a bit disappointed as I was playing for the same club for over 12 years. And seeing her in the same shirt was a remarkable experience. But she is much ore enthusiastic with ballet so I am fine with it. triplea_37995_jap6.tsvg

Extremely lte here. We had a pretty spontaneous summer trip to Lake Constance with the kids for a week. We came back on Thursday and planning the 12th birthday for our oldest daughter this Saturday. But I will be back in our game on Sunday evening latest. Hope you had a wonderful August too.
