I will go ahead and play out the game for the integrity of the playoffs if that’s okay. I don’t think forfeiting mid-match or mid-series during a playoff would be an acceptable action in any other competitive field so I apologize for even mentioning it and I also apologize for the delay though as mentioned it was not as long as yours so I think the right thing would be for us just to finish the game. Without any bumps or messages I guess I was just focused on other things and lost track of the time. But I will go ahead and continue now if you agree.

In chess, which probably is more similar to this as it’s an individual sport without much change from year to year( mental sport with no roster changes, coaching changes , injuries or much age based decline) you absolutely base this years initial rating on last years final rating. Why not? We need as much data as we can especially in this situation with extremely low sample size.

It has brought me countless hours of entertainment. I have a question for you. Let’s say there is a destroyer built in sea zone around Japan by an American IC in Korea and there is a large Japanese fleet there (in same sea zone) including transports. I know the Japanese transports cannot load from Japan in combat movement due to the presence of the destroyer. Assuming the Japan fleet stays put including the transports and wins the sea battle, can Japanese land units then load onto the transports ( but not offload) from Japan during noncombat?

ok those are the rules of this version I guess. I think its something they fixed in BM3: “Note: An Axis power may not move its units into originally Russian territory unless that Axis power is at war with Russia.” but we are playing oob…
foudn this on oob notes: * (EM) If Russia is at war with Italy, but not with Germany, a German warship in sz125 will cancel Russia’s national objective (and same if at war with Germany but not Italy, and there is an Italian boat in sz125).

Well even though it makes no sense and the wording does not indicate that loading is not allowed he did as you say quote the same section as you. Very disappointing to be honest I would rather take the loss on this game and have them interpret that rule differently because it really diminishes the realism of this version of the game unnecessarily in my opinion. But like good lawyers we have to use the rulebook to our advantage whenever possible to be the best players we can be whether the rule makes sense or not so there is no shame in that! This is a game after all! Unfortunately for me from reading the rule it was not at all clear to me that was the rule in fact I still believe the way it was written it implied moving for the purpose of loading was disallowed but not loading per se. So it does make it difficult for me in this situation but oh well it is what it is.

I did actually. Just like a multinational transport the transports are not moving from the docks in Japans harbors so are not doing anything at all in noncombat; the land units are simply loading onto them. But we have heard from the ultimate authority and no set of rules is perfect so we just have to live within the rules that are set for us, in life and in this game!

@gamerman01 this is true lol. In revised you could have like one warship and a large stack of trannies and be safe from a decent size Air Force. That was silly too. But anyway I want to thank you very much for your help not only in this game but for running the leagues in general. Having organized quite a bit before for other games I know it’s a lot of work and a thankless job but it brings a lot of us much entertainment and comeraderie so thank you

I would prefer to play out the games normally but I understand your reasoning as you are in quite a predicament and I am very sorry to hear about your health situation—that really sucks. My own situation is fine; no real problem and either way it wouldn’t be really affected by this game one way or the other.
I didn’t know you played chess that’s cool. I also played competitive chess when I was in high school (attained uscf chess master) and still play online (2400+ on lichess and chess.com) and it’s always good to meet a fellow chess player. I have to ask though as a chess player can you call a flag on a player when your own flag has been down quite some time?? 😜
