Does Turkey connect to Bulgaria as in real life?

RE: Larry Harris Semi-Official Tournament Game Patch
@wittmann:
I have played four games , without a bid. Is still hard, because Japan is still strong. It changes the gane , in that the U.K. Has an Atlantic fleet amd, therefore, a foothold on the Continent. I enjoyed the change .
Sorry I can’t say much else, Ike.Thanks Wittman

RE: Larry Harris Semi-Official Tournament Game Patch
So do the changes mentioned in the first post help the balance? Are folks still using a bid with the setup changes?

RE: The Bright Skies
I also like to share my view on Russian economy, to support why I am so positive Russia can become most exciting nation to play instead of most boring.
RUSSIA = 30 IPC
But many national objecties to growSiberia: +7 IPC
SZ125: +5 IPC
Iraq: +5 IPC
Italian Somaliland + Libya: +7 IPC
Italian Islands: +6 IPC
Scandinavia: +11 IPCThat is +41 IPC, PER TURN for a total of 71 IPC without entering German borders (as those can be easily defended by Germany)
How is Russia getting the Italian islands? They’re loading on US/UK transports in the Med?

RE: IC upgrades
Even though you’re paying for the upgrade at the beginning of turn 2 it doesn’t take effect until the end of your turn at the same time you place new units. I think that’s where you were stuck. So turn 3 is when you could place up to 10 units as taamvan said.

RE: Old Axis strategies what were they and how did they work?
I’ve only played one game where Italy raged, it was glorious. No Taranto I believe. Axis win in Europe

RE: Extra Pieces Global 1940 2nd Ed
I like the chips from 1942 better, they’re a little smaller. So I bought blue’s from HBG (which I believe come with 1914) and use those as 2. So my setup is:
Gray 1
Blue 2
Green 3
Red 5Also picked up their air base and naval base markers which really pop on the board.

RE: Old Axis strategies what were they and how did they work?
Dual victory conditions means that either Germany/Italy or Japan can win the game for Axis. This was a big change from the traditional way A&A games played out, where Allies would generally go either KJF or KGF. In these games, Axis only had so much time to take out Russia before USA gets to either J or G. Dual victory conditions force the Allies to adopt a balanced approach or risk losing on one side of the board or another. This gives Axis more time to achieve economic dominance.
Gotcha, thanks. I didn’t play the older games. So before without dual victory conditions if the Berlin or Tokyo were captured and held a turn then the Allies would win? Whereas now they need to capture both capitals, unless the axis concede first.

What do you mean by dual victory conditions?

RE: Kamikaze strikes, scrambles and stuff
I believe just one Kamikaze will prevent shore bombardments as well, right? That could be very valuable in itself.

RE: The Borneo gambit
@IKE:
What about the US bonus money you’re missing out on though?
Forgive me I forget, if UK/AZ declares war then US has to wait until which turn to declare war and get it’s bonuses? Is it end of turn 3 or 4?
Japan goes j1 against USA and at the end of Turn 4 the USA has gotten 60 IPC bonus cash at that point.
Correction USA or UK or Anzac. And it would actually be 80 IPC’s of bonus income by end of their turn 4.
I think you should go find your own rule book and take a seat, my good sir. :-o
Just curious, how long have you been playing by the wrong rules?

What? Sir, head upstairs to the bathroom and find your 1940 Rule book under the sink and take a seat, good sir. :-o
The USA is at war on turn 4 if the Axis do not DOW on them.
The USA only enters the war earlier than Turn 4 Based 100% on if Japan goes early on a DOW against them. Yes, Iam discounting the .000258% Chance that Germany DOW’s on the USA in turn one with a surprise sub attack on the East Coast.
USA entry into the war is totally dictated by Japans actions. Only Japan can get them into the war earlier that Turn 4. UK/ANZAC actions have 0 impact on USA entry into the war early.
I don’t have my rulebook in front of me but I believe your understanding to be wrong. Japan attacks UK/Anzac and the US can declare war that same turn. UK/Anzac declare war on Japan first, US needs to wait until turn 4 (assuming Japan is smart enough not to attack US directly and London doesn’t fall. So it’s not only based on Japan declaring war on ‘them’ (US) but also UK/Anzac as well. That is why we asked about the lost US bonus income from an early UK/Anzac DOW on Japan.

2.
UK/ANZAC DOW on Japan.
Why? All those plans could be done without DOW, can’t they?
I didn’t understand that either. Why would you delay getting the US in the war when you don’t have to?

RE: Major IC in Romania
I didn’t think a submarine makes the sea zone hostile, so the transports could still load. If there is a warship there they could also ignore the submarine and amphibious assault.

RE: US Response to Sealion
@IKE:
No, I’d still go Atlantic to liberate but as soon as Russia sees sea lion they can start building tanks and mech sending them to china and/or middle east towards India. They also won’t need the siberian troops in Moscow so they are free to be a thorn in the side of Japan up north.
I think sea lion is a trap unless you can build for it while still staying flexible enough to beat Russia back and take it only if the opportunity is there with minimal investment/losses. Otherwise if it’s too costly, as mentioned above you’ll win the battle but lose the war.
Russia and the US need to addapt properly. Sending tanks into china is not the way to go. Germany is weak so you should capitalize on that and get some sweet NO money from germany.
If russia has more or equal income to germany and more /equal forces then europe is stabilized.Ok and how about the pacific? US needs to come liberate London. What’s stopping Japan from winning the game?
With no pressure from Germany, Russia has enough units to push west and spend some resources to fight Japan.
