One has to ask, though, what’s the point of that?
Two infantry can’t really do much in the Med, especially if they’re nearly useless on offense - they can combine on defense, but not to attack.
Would those resources be better utilized in the Pacific?I’m with you, I don’t see the logic in spending that much time to get somewhere for minimal effect. I call moves like this gimicky, just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
I don’t recall saying anything about taking on the Axis in Europe. The move is simply for ANZAC to activate and retrieve 3 extra inf. as well as earning 2 extra IPC’s for the rest of the game.
Still, if you take 2 transports and 1 infantry ($17) all the way to Brazil for 3 infantry ($9) and bring them all the way back to the Pacific (6 rounds), you will have 2 loaded transports and $2 in extra income. All I’m saying is, ANZAC transports and infantry have one purpose IMO, and that’s to take, liberate, and protect the Dutch islands. A better idea would be for the UK to take it if possible, they need all the units they can get early on.
Hey SFB, You start with 1 transport and 5 inf. so the total cost is 7 IPC’s…. for the second transport.

YA, OK…. Whatever. Guys like you are a dime a dozen around here, you think this is the first time I took crap from someone with less than 200 posts? If you can’t handle someone disagreeing with you… you’re in the wrong forum.
Just because you have 1500+ posts doesn’t mean you have any idea how to win at this game. All it means is that you have a big mouth

Hey Grasshopper, your the one who sounds “gimicky” here. Your high if you think that the UK should buy transports to secure Brazil. I can see by your coments you don’t win at this game ever because of your closed mind. As for your opinion: I don’t wish to hear the latest dribble from Rooktown or Newbville.
I stated that ANZAC activates Java and leaves, by you suggesting they try to hold it against Japan just proves your rookie/newb status.

ANZAC maneuvers in Java & Brazil
In a recent match I used 2 ANZAC transports to annex Brazil, here is how>> Turn 1: Build 1 transport, use the existing cruiser/destroyer/transport to activate Java (up 4 IPC’s) in Sz 42 and land all your fighters there as well. Due to Java’s special political status you can land your fighters in the same turn you activate it. Turn 2: Sail your navy to Sz 54, depending what Japan is doing you have the option of flying your fighters to India. Turn 3: Sail just your transport from Sz 54 and your transport in Sz 62 to Sz 66 picking up the inf. from New Zealand on route. Turn 4: Sail to Sz 85 and activate Brazil (up 2 IPC’s) giving you 4 inf. in total. Turn 5:Load transports and sail to Sz 52. Turn 6: Depending what the Japanese are doing you have the option of sailing to Sz 62 or Sz 54.

UKW Units vs. UKE Units
Has anyone noticed that UKW and UKE units can get confused in Africa, the middle East, the Red Sea / the Med seazones? Thoughts?

RE: Any Tips?
RAzor I like your strategy have to say I never thought of that. Thanks man.
SalothSar did before Razor

RE: Any Tips?
you invade UK and next turn you bombard the Naval Base and Airbase in Gibraltar to ruins. Since you now control UK, they cant repair this bases, so the US units that land in Gibraltar turn 4 will get less range.
!!! OMG
I’ve been so concerned with Gibraltar as Germany that I am shucking units there, putting an AA gun and leaving my fleet there.
With this move I can leave my ships to fight against Russia and just bomb Gibraltar! Amazing, its little moves like this that some people see as common sense and others miss entirely.
Bombing the Gibraltar port Sounds like> Operation SalothSar…. nice steal Razor!

RE: Changes still needed to the game, IMHO
“Oh Can-a-da, you’re hope-less at this game…”
Russia will slap you like my red headed step sister when you come chasing all my infantry, picking up only 1 IPC tt per round Sounds like fun. wheeeDude spare me with your Canadians suc routine…. You need not bring politics into your lame-a** arguement. For the record>>> I stated that I would attack Amur if all 18 inf were stupid enough to end up on that coastline. There would be no chase because all 18 inf in Amur are dead. J1 Japan hits Amur with everything that can make it there. !All to easy! Oh and by the way… when your done beating you step sister can I take her out for a drink?

RE: Changes still needed to the game, IMHO
Sounds like there are alot of Japanese “Cowards” perusing the forums here…
Where’s your ZEAL? Where’s your Banzai cry for the emporer? RUNNING FROM THE COMMUNISTS! Absurd!
I’m with ya G> BanzaiX3 squash those 18 Amur Reds with all you got!!!

RE: ANZAC Strategy
Another event, worth noting, was a game wherin japan had lost all territory but the home island, with 2 fighters and 20+ infantry, but the island was totaly convoy raided. Moscow had fallen, and Germany stretched from France to the Soviet Far East, but couldnt get into china because it had 30 infantry at each border territory
ANZAC had control of all the money islands, and French Indo China, and a minor there. It and India were doing all they could to hold germany back from india, with a german minor in west india.
ANZAC was a juggernaut in this game, collecting 34 IPCs with NOs. Its 3 factorys stretched to the limit funneling units to india
That was a WEIRD game, because no one wanted to quit. US eventualy ended the game by landing 20 tanks and 20 infantry at Korea, and Norway. And since this wasnt alpha anything….they built two majors on their next turn and germany surrenderd
How many days did this game last?

RE: London falls, US takes Canada?
@Sire:
I always used to think that once a power capital is captured, an allied player of that power could “take care” of these territories by walkink/rolling on them in non-combat move.
Your Wrong
