      Reduce the IPC value of Timguska from 1IPC to 0 and increase the value of Yakuts to 2IPC, allow the Soviets 12IPCs for free on the turn Japan attacks.(like the old rule). This is a better balance as it is still up to the individual player as to what they want to do, but you would hope any player with common sense would use the 12IPCs to build a minor IC in yakuts

      Makes sense for the original.  Not needed for Global 1940.  Original had no 4 IPC unit options (Global has 2), tanks defended on a 2, and there were far fewer spaces on the board (so moving only 1 space wasn’t such a downfall).  Totally different game, in fact it’s about 3 or 4 versions and 30 years later.

      Thanks to everyone for all the replies. Lots of great ideas. I am implementing the idea of having to take off from AB but do not like the idea of having to land back at one (too restictive). A lot of the ideas discussed IMO are to restrictive. Here’s what my group will use moving forward.
      Heavy transport $10, move 6 no attack or defend value (last unit removed - NEW) (must take off from AB-NEW) (limit 3 per major power) (can transport 3 Inf or 3 Special forces)
      Special forces (paratroops) $5 Att3 Def1 (limit 5 per major power but can be replaced when destroyed).

      Hey MayDay8, I never heard back from you regarding last June. Life get real busy for you last summer? I’ve managed to get some f2f games a couple times now. Lots of fun meeting different players! Going to try 3.9 this Saturday w/ a full table on the Allies side.

      My deepest apologies!  I was busy with family and put Axis and Allies on hold.  If you are still okay with having me join your group sometime, then I could come up to your place.  I would love to play on the Allies side when their is an opening.  If crusaders1 is interested, he and I could drive up in my car.
