i am trying to find the answer to a rules question
I have read the FAQ and can’t find the answer
for the russian NO it says ARC + no allied units in USSR
if you take finland and land british planes do you then lose the NO

in the final of the daak tourney
the bid was won with 8$
which means dutchmanD is playing the axis vs 2 inf in egypt and 2$ for russia
I personally bid 5 as i wasn’t willing to give a good allies player 2 inf in egypt.
However i am still not confident i am winning with the 2 inf in egypt and the 2$ for russia
but honestly i think it depends alot on how the bidding is done
in DAAK i got to choose units anywhere.
your bidding is different.
However under the daak rules i think a bid between 5-9 is probably correct
i also had thoughts that with 2 inf in egypt i can possibly build a factory in egypt turn 1
i think 9 might be too much
and 5 might be too little

in tournament games
i am playing in the final of the DAAK aa50 tournament and the bid for the axis is 8$
that means that the allies got to place 2 inf in egypt
and give 2$ to russia
should make for an interesting game
in battlemap my little box that has $ and the little box that you use to add pieces
has dissapeared how do i make it come back
i think the factory depends alot on the allied strategy.
1. IC france is a liability in KGF it’s too easily attacked and you can’t often support it as you don’t have enough $.
2. in a kjf a factory is a must it doesn’t really matter where it is but alot will depend on what italy/uk are doing.
For some examples look at DY’s game in the tourneys he build a factory with germany most games and in different situations. He plays a conservative strategic germany with a slow steady buildup on russia and he is undefeated.
Personally i think the factory depends alot on what is happening. If you have karelia it’s often not required.
If they are kgf and strat bombing you then you don’t need it as you have to repair the one factory you have anyway.
Like anything in this game nothing is set in stone but i think a factory for germany is important
The thing about these stats is
1. There is huge skill difference in alot of these games. There are about 3 or 4 very solid good players and alot of average players. I think i can predict alot of games by who plays which side and if you reverse the sides you get the same result. For example DY vs alot of players DY would win as axis and as allies or dutchman or KGB once he gets a few games under his belt. So It’s like asking random dudes off the street if white or black is better in chess. Kasparov would say white is but would still crush 99% of all players as black.

i think it was the world championships or something like that basically daak and .org and 2 other clubs played a big tournament which i won.

i have a question about the suez canal
in previous versions you had to hold both sides of your canal at the start of your turn.
in this version can i capture both side of the canal then non combat through the canal ?
I dont think KGF or KJF the ‘optimal’ paths. I believe a more balanced approach is necessary. Personally, I think England and Russia are enough match for Germany/Italy IF Japan isnt gutting the English income AND breathing down Russia’s neck as well.
Agreed with balanced approach being the best. But is still a lesser evil: UK and soviets are no match for western axis because of west axis economic advantage from round 2-3, they need a bit of USA aid. And USA simply cannot beat the superior income of Japan from round 2-3 even without sending aid to Europe and spending all the money in Pacific ocean
Flawed game design. And China is the key, they should be able of at least stopping Japan in Asia, but in OOB rules China is the patetic shadow of a sparring.

subs turn 1 for america to kill italian fleet turn 4
even building more fleet every turn it can’t survive
then bring american fleet underneath
if you can’t take italy you take bulgar and balkans every turn
i plan to sit in epl with russia turn 4 or 5
once you do that it is all over

NO’s but no tech
Japan is too slow to get enough pressure on russia
and russia has a huge inf advantage over germany
and we all know i love the infantry push mechanic
i just don’t see how germany can’t be pushed back far enough that the allies can constrict germany and then kill italy
japan pressure on russia isn’t really until turn 5 and even then it’s usually one big burst with little behind i
i know this will start a flame war probably
but let me state my position first
I don’t think it’s possible for the axis to win assuming to equal good quality players
If the allies go kill germany first
I know people will disagree with this so feel free to challenge me at any point.
Based on this premise I am thinking of how much i am prepared to let germany bid.
i think 6 is too much as it lets him put an extra sub on the board
but i think letting him put an arty or a tnk in egypt is still okay
so i think i would be bidding 6 for the axis and letting people take germany / japan for a 5$ bid
I am more than happy to test my theory out.

it’s 2 full boatloads that are close to africa and straight into india
you get them 1 turn faster than FIC

Vs an american fleet
It’s still great you get to build fleet where you need it if he goes south.
It’s easy to defend
it means your slower on the mainland with an american gunning for you.
but who cares
if no america going to italy or germany
then germany should be able to hold off britian and russia.
Btw you should be able to win the fleet battle too
you earn 60 ish
he earns max 48$
that means you put an extra 2 ss a turn onto the board.
I build my factory in NWY
it means you can get 5 1/2 boats every turn into germany
it’s good as it build pressure
but it depends on what happens in africa
if they do turn 1 egypt i think it’s not good in nwy
but realistically your only options are SAF
and Nwy
but it depends on what the axis are doing.
South africa can be a risky manuever and if i am going KGF i probably don’t need it with americas in africa.

then depending on what is going on
But i think you definitley want an I.C in india no later than turn 4
maybe an I.C in fic on turn 3
I think building in fic or manchuria turn 1 is bad

italy is gonna be poor and so is germany so you gotta get britian and america as poor as possible.
i attack the british No by going 3 trn into austraila turn 2 and takign hawaii and wake.
Personally i alwasy build turn 2 I.C sumatra
the best way to attack russia is through the caucus
and 2inf 2 art a turn in sum makes it to caucus quicker than FIC
