Hi all!
I’ve been a long time A&A player and finally got my 1940 today.
What immediately met my eye in the rules was the amphibious assaults rule on page 15.
It says there that if there was any kind of seacombat in the zone no ship can bombard and no transport may land troops. Is this really the case? At least we always played the older editions differently that you could assign ships to sea or landcombat and that a ship did not hamper you assault abilities.
Hypothetical situation: Japan is besieged by the US fleet. Whats to stop Japan to just send a single destroyer into the sz containing the US fleet to stall the invasion indefinately?
Update: Quote from page 12: IF an amph assault involves a sea combat, any air unit etc…
This implies that it is possible to have both. So what is correct?
