Played Our First Game Tonight

I don’t KAF, in either Pacific or Global. I use the Pacific ALpha setup and Japan attacks around J3 (maybe one later if it seems acievable).

While I don’t  try to take Australia early, I do try to destroy any navy that is around. A carrier in the carolines can often send it’s planes, with a sub and maybe another sub or a destroyer, and take out ANZAC Navy and land back on the carrier in relative saftey near the DEI (Java) or occassionally, or you can send the carrier to NSW SZ supported by a couple fo dedstroyers. I think this is very important for Japan if it delays a DOW. Of course, you cannot lose your carrier, or even take a hit on it, so you have to be careful.

yeah. Keep in mind that japan had 8 more planes than the allies.

I have a question. I think, since Japan has no navy at ALL in the Dutch East Indies I can have ANZAC send its submarine fleets to disrupt convoys there. But I’m not sure exactly how convoy disruptions work. It said it can’t exceed the combined IPC value of all adjacent territories or islands in the disrupted sea zone.

So if I had 4 submarines in SZ42, the most amount of IPC I can destroy is 19 IPCs (3 from Malaya, 4 from Sumatra, 4 from Java, 4 from Boreno, 3 from Celebes)?

Z42 only borders Java, so you can only disrupt Java for 4 ipcs

I would like to thank you guys for the advice, because I won my game against my best buddy.

I immediately pushed my Navy South and took NSW from the Austrailians (he had alot of troops in Queensland).  I also built a factory in Kwangtung which the next turn I made 9 men there (and a transport) followed by 10 tanks the next turn.  I traded NSW for a few turns back and forth eventually killing off all the Australian troops two turns before America could send their then massive navy to Austrailia.

I used two transports and took Sumatra and Malaya with Battleship and Destroyer support, and smashed the remaining Brits and 3 Chinese in Yunnan at the cost of about 8 planes to the 4 British planes and several infantry.

With Australia clear of troops I moved transports and bombers into a poor India and took it over and blocked the United States from reaching Austrailia, Japan, or the Phillipenes.

Thank you all for the advice, but next time Ill attack sooner with Japan, the Brits got rich fast which caused me a big headache.

Keep in mind that in this game after the allies take Japan, that the game is not officially over. Japan gets to try and recapture Tokyo in its next turn (of course it won’t have any $). The allies may have used all their resources to take Japan and lost most of their fleet due to scramble. The allied 2 hit ships won’t be repaired. As said before Japan can drop a ton of inf w/some air support on the Island, so the allied invasion force could also be very weak. Obviously Japan would have to have a secondary force steaming back home, but its possible. In a nut shell both sides could be decimated, and it would be back to square one. The US should have the upper hand due to income, but it would be several rounds before it could mount another attack, giving Japan time to reclaim some tt.

I know its a long shot, but I have seen powers come back from the dead in other AA games. Granted those games normally have allies to bail them out. It would be like a huge 4th come back in football. You wouldn’t want to be the person that walked out of the stadium at 1/2 time.

Krupp Steel, I think its a good guess to say that the Soveits are going to have a large force on the manchurian border.
The Soveits scored a vicotry against Japan in their 1938-1939 war at battle of Nomonhan, but still saw Japan as a threat and it wasnt until april 13 1941 that the two sides signed a five year non-agresion pact.
