another great game……one of my iraq buddies came to pittsburgh over the summer and we got a few games in. I also love playing as Germany. Sometimes i alternate between artillery rd. 1. Armor rd 2. and just push for Moscow…10 arty…8 armor…10 arty …8 armor. My stategy is to take russian territories each turn and place my 12ipc bonus at the brginning of the game down towards egypt(3 arty)

I hope not on Libya as you have to have units on the territory.
My 12 ipcs as Germany goes to a Transport and 1 art unit. The transport allows me to contest leningrad or look like I am going to attempt Sealion. Either way it is a win-win situation for me.

As Germany I have never lost however have come close. My first turn is always every single plane goes and attacks British fleets, then subs do there attacks on the u.s. And british fleets, except for Canada. As the Canadian fleet stretches my fleet out a bit too much.

Then I hammer Russia with all armour buys however I do sometimes buy subs to keep the Western Allies at bay.

OK, you got the allies. I’ll get Germany. I’ll put 1 sub at Hallifax Sea, 1 art at Finland. I’ll make a thread in Games Progress subforum.

You ahve to allow each side to see adjacent territories as well.  Might even want to allow them to see what is in “aerial recon” range.

Still makes for an interesting twist, since counter-attacks would be largely unknown…

I agree with point 1, but I’d add something to point 2:  Enemy fighters can attack recon fighters and any AA guns can shoot at recon fighters.

BTW, it’s done often and even has a term: “Fog of War”

I have not done it in Europe, however I have played Classic this way.  (We let you roll for intelligence for each die result of 6 you rolled again and that’s the number of territories that did not border your forces you got “intelligence” on.)

macs are cool, I mainly use linux, but i have windows on computer #3… anyway is this a picture file, or the microsoft word document? I do do both on linux (openoffice), so that will be cool! and yeah, i get +12 for germany, it’s +12 for all countries. Is this ok? hmm thinking what i should get, maybe a fighter for france…

For the 12 IPCs just for germany: That means that Leningrad falls in G1 (building a second TRN in the baltic).

Is it worth it tho? Russia can retake it pretty easily, before Germany has any chance of reinforcing Leningrad.

Well, it puts severe pressure on them, if you take the other baltic countries as well. The allies won’t send in fighters en masse, and even if russia starts to concentrate on the north, they have to do it on costs of the precious south (which also means that usually the middle east falls quickly).
