Favorite Eurogame and last time you played it

Hard to say, really. HoI3 has a lot more to it, and splits units even further, so that when you build your divisions you decide what types of brigades make them up. Also in HoI3, the war system is changed a bit, so that you have to have your neutrality at a certain point depending upon the other nation’s threat level before being able to declare war on them, whereas in HoI2, you could just go for it, but risk that a major power stops your expansionism if you hit someone whose independence they have guaranteed. If you plan on ever playing a minor power, then don’t bother trying to do it in HoI3, it’ll take you 12 months solid to be able to hit anyone else, regardless of which nation you pick. If you plan on only doing the bigger countries that were involved in WW3, then it won’t make a difference.

HoI3 also has more glitches to it, but you can expect them to be fixed by patching.

Really, it depends on if HoI3 is too much micromanagement for you to handle, or if you want to ever play a minor power such as bulgaria or brazil.

I can’t get enough of this game. Regardless of how many other videogames I get, this one keeps finding it’s way into the disc tray. And I bought this game when it was released. Anyone else play?

For those who don’t know Battlestation Midway is a WWII RTS dealing with warships and airplanes with the ability to control any unit manualy. It’s pure gold to warship lovers.

I almost hate to bring this up, but I’ve been playing an “on line” server game for a few months now called, “Travian”. And am curious to know who else here is or has been playing this real time Strategy game. :?

All Axis & Allies games. Some American Civil War games. Also Railroad Tycoon. No time or players for any others. I thought that I would like online versions of AA but the commitment to others that I do not know is awkward. I feel bad if I start and then have to leave before the game is over. If its someone that I know then we can always save and continue later. I am involved with this forum only.

It sounds awesome.  I’ll try and check it out and give it a go sometime.  I’d still like to get into Hearts of Iron more, but like I said, it takes a while to complete something.  The farthest I got was playing as Spain and basically carving France in half with Germany.  And we were just getting into 1940…

I like both pretty equally. With regards to what you said about RTS skill being about memorizing hotkeys and such, I don’t bother attaining enough skill in this department just to be better at the game. (Maybe this is why I still haven’t beaten Starcraft or Warcraft 3?) But I still love RTS because of the fast-paced decision making! On the other hand, Turn-based is awesome because it allows alot of time for decision making. So as long as it’s one of the two extremes, I’m good to go. :D
