@coachdcj Player 2 is correct. From the Official Rules Clarifications document (page 4):
You can never give an ally anything: units, territories or I.P.C.'s.
ok we just bought this game so me and 4 other guy were playin it last night and we got into this huge argument because somehow we got into it where like 2 takes were attacksing a sub somehow lol…anyway the sub counter attacked and killed the tank but they said thats not possible unless the missle had wheels or something and could go on land…anyway we just ended up letting the tanks win…oh and also what do u do when the game runs outta the construction plant things lol.
yes i know im a n00b…
Naval units can not attack land units and land units can not attack sea units.
Land units on board transports can not fire. If the transport is sunk, the cargo is destroyed too.
If an attacker wishes to launch an amphibious assault, and there are defending naval units in the seazone adjacent to the target land zone, then there is first a naval battle involving the naval units only. If the attacking navy survives, then it may unload the land units from its transports, and the land battle ensues. If the attacker has any battleships, they get a single support shot at 4 into the land battle. The battleship is immune to attack from defenders in the land battle.
Planes and bombers are airunits. They can participate in the sea battle or the land battle, but not both. The sea zone and land zone are completely separate areas. So move the planes into the seazone to participate in the naval battle, or move them to the land zone to participate in the land battle. Just make sure they have enough movemnet points to get back to friendly territory during the non-combat phase.
If all the factory pieces are used up, no more factories can be built.
This is the same for all pieces in the game. It limits the number of separate units of that type each army can have. For example, each player has only 2 battleships. So at most each player can have 2 fleets with battleships in the game at one time. You can use the read and white chips to create 2 stacks of battleships, but you are always limited to 2 stacks.
I hope this helps. Welcome to the game. I think its one of the best around.
So planes need to account for a retreat move, but i didn’t know battleships did too. So does that mean taht if you’re amphibious attacking with a transporter and a battleship, taht the battleship needs to stay with it for that ‘first shot’?? Or can it move up a space or two from another country, then fall back? Does it have to fall back also, or could it jsut stay at the shore?

I’m not exactly sure what you are trying to say, though the battleship must stay with the transport in order for that “firstshot.” Also, if the battleship just participate in that landing operation, its movement phase is used up.
Planes need to fly round trip starting and ending in a friendly land territory or landing on an air craft carrier.
Planes can not land on territories just captured.
A plane has 4 movement points, so it can attack a zone up to 2 spaces away and land back where it started.
Alternately. The plane could attack a zone 1 or 3 spaces away, and then move 3 or 1 spaces respectiviely to a different location. A plane does not need to use all of its movement points you could attack an area 1 space away and return 1 space moving only 2.
Bombers are like fighters except they have 6 movement points so they can go farther.
To attack with a plane move it to the area to attack during combat movement. Remember where the plane came from so you know how many movement points it has left. If the plane survives the battle, then during the non-combat movement phase you must use the remaining movement points of the plane to land in a friendly territory that was not just captured in the combat phase.
If you don’t wish to fight with a plane, then just move it in the non-combat movement phase only.
If a plane passes over or into an area with an AA gun during combat movement, then the AA gun gets a single shot at 1 to try and hit the plane. AA guns do not get to fire at planes during non-combat movement.
OK, thanks for the help everyone!!
So if the battleship moves in to a country that has troops ,but no naval at it, then the battleship can just chill at the shore. But then if they have an industrial complex there and they buy a new battleship or sub, and they have to place it, are those 2 in immediate battle? Or is it immediate battle once it’s my turn again? Or is there no battle until someone initiates it?
What i meant before (to help clarify) was that with the planes you move 2 / attack / then fall back 2. Does a battleship move and do the ‘single shot’ attack and then fall back again? Or does it stay right next to the island it attacked?
@Anonymous:
So if the battleship moves in to a country
BBs move in sea zones(aka SZs)
that has troops ,but no naval at it, then the battleship can just chill at the shore.
CORRECT

IT DEPENDS ON WHICH RULES VERSION YOU PLAY BY AND/OR WHAT VARIATIONS THE PLAYERS HAVE AGREED TO USE. THE MOST COMMONLY USED RULES(3rd edition) GIVE YOU THE CHOICE(ON YOUR TURN) TO EITHER ENGAGE THE ENEMY OR RETREAT.
What i meant before (to help clarify) was that with the planes you move 2 / attack / then fall back 2. Does a battleship move and do the ‘single shot’ attack and then fall back again? Or does it stay right next to the island it attacked?
YES,HOWEVER, REMEMBER THAT A BB CAN ONLY FIRE ON LAND UNITS WHEN SUPPORTING AN AMPHIBIOUS INVASION (TRANSPORT [TRN] DROPPING OFF INFANTRY[INF] OR ARMOR[ARM].
