    Round Two: Germany builds for an attack on Piedmont, buys four fighters & BB, &, Battle Fleet sails for Med. Sea. Italy buys two subs. & transport picks up trooper in E. Africa,

    Round Three: Germany builds C & 4 troopers & three guns. New BB joins transport fleet. Battle fleet enters Med. Sea and attacks Italian Fleet(both sides loses a BB & C & 4 German & 3 Italian subs). Both naval forces are wiped out!

    Even thought not all armies are together, Germany attacks with one plane, 6 guns, & 15 troopers, against Italy’s army of 1 plane, 6 guns, 20 troopers. Losses for Italy 8 troopers, &, Germany losses of 1 plane, 14 troopers, and, five guns.

    Italy buys a sub. & three troopers. Destroys the invading German trooper & gun in Piedmont, for a lost of an trooper. Her transport is coming back with a trooper from East Africa.

    It is a hard choice, but, the the once Axis partner, gives the political victory to Germany. Rome is defended by four troopers and a sub.(A German fleet of a BB & 4 transports, of a gun & trooper each, is coming in the Med. Sea to take out Rome or her home islands, and, now non defensive colonies, much less Albania. Also a German C is just behind the transports). Also the second wave of Germans due to invade Piedmont, have 4 fighters, 8 guns, and,35 troopers(much less a third wave of just only 8 troopers & six guns), against a Italian fighter, 6 guns, and, 12 troopers.

    If Germany had waited for round four to invade, with the combined first and second wave, Italy would have gone down(losing all her forces in Piedmont). Better to settle for a political victory for German, than let the “Huns” overrun Italy.

    Italy versus Austrian Hungarian Empire

    AH can attack Venice from two different sectors, also they have about 2:1 ratio in troopers, guns, and, economy. Her fleet is the same size as Italian fleet, but, AH can reinforce it, much less the army, at the same time. Italy could build up her fleet a bit, but, will need all her and resources to get AH out of Venice.

    Round One: AH purchases, two subs. & transport & fighter. Moves her fleet to battle Italian fleet, both fleets of BB & C destroyed, and, has a transport that lands in Albania two troopers. AH troops & guns go into Venice from Tyrolia & Trieste sectors, attack & destroy five troopers & two guns(for a lost of six troopers).

    Italy buys a sub. & two troopers, attacks AH forces in Venice with forces from Tuscany & Piedmont(Roman forces move into Tuscany). Also her transport brings a trooper & gun from N.Africa to Venice. Losses are six troopers against AH losses of four troopers and a gun.

    Still Venice is contested, with Italy’s two troopers & three guns, holding out against AH one trooper & four guns. Italy’s last major field army(two guns & six troopers) is in between Rome & Venice, should it send some troops to help Rome(with three troopers) against an possible sea invasion(the Italian sub. may not hold back two AH subs. with two transports). Also a second wave of an fighter & four guns & sixteen troops are ready to enter Venice from AH next turn. Along with her IPC is now reduced to ten, with Libya, Sicily, Sardinia, and, Naples open to sea invasion.

    Final IPC losses AH 55 & Italy 82.

    Italy chooses a political victory for AH, better too lose Venice, than to lose everything else.

  • Here are two powers closely match in strength. In terms of worth, Ottoman have two more IPCs than Italy, her fleet is just 2 C to Italy’s BB & C, they have one more starting trooper to Italy, while the Italians have one more starting gun to the Ottomans.

    Separated by just the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, who ever controls the sea, can land transports for invasion. Unfortunately for the powers, the Turks have the edge. Here even if Italy control the sea(the Turkish fleet wiped out), with such low economic numbers, if would take many/allot of rounds to build the transports, for an invasion(much less a second and third wave).

    The Turks would simply build their land forces up, using Istanbul & Syria, as major reserve points, they can reinforce the other four provinces.

    The Italians could contest a province or two, but, could they hold it(does it become more a big raid, than a landing?). When Turkey goes again, and, drives them back into the sea, using troops & guns from Istanbul & Syria. Could the Italians have a second & third wave, to reinforce their contested landing(s)? It would boil down to the first wave taking and holding unto that province(and allot of good dice rolls).

    Now if the Turks controls the sea, they have a choice. Here Italian mainland is five provinces, using Rome & Tuscany, as your strong points, you can reinforce the other three provinces. Now the problem is the home island of Sicily, &, Sardinia, pride would make you put a trooper there, but, they have no point value. Albania starts the game undefended, and, is worth two, Libya is worth one & has a trooper & gun, while the throwaway colony of Somali-land is worth one, &, has a defending trooper(too far to reinforce).

    The Turkish fleet & transports would pick off the non-connecting islands, colonies, and, Albania, one by one. Ottoman IPCs would go to 20(Italy would go to 10), still it would be allot/many rounds before transports could be built, for any landings(much less any second & third waves).

    Now Round One: Turks builds a BB(their fleet is protected from attack, in the Black Sea). Spreads troops & guns around, so all provinces have three troopers & a gun, no less(Istanbul & Smyrna has six troopers).

    Italy builds a C & a gun, reinforces Albania with a trooper & gun, spreads her troops and guns, so all mainland provinces have at least three troopers & a gun(Tuscany has a extra gun, and, Piedmont & Venice has two extra troopers).

    Round Two: Turkey buys a transport and a sub.(the former placed in the Black Sea & latter in the Med. Sea), and, a gun. Turks fleet attack the enemy fleet, and, they lose their BB & 2 C(the Italians lose 2C, &, damage BB).

    Italy sends the damaged BB and sinks the Turkish sub.(in turn the BB is sunk). Along with the transport reinforces the home islands with a trooper each. Also buys a sub. and a fighter & trooper.

    Each side has just a transport on the seas(before Italy places her new sub.). The game goes to both sides for victory, in this tit for tat Naval Warfare. When it comes to landings Turkey has a edge of picking off the non mainland parts of Italy. While Italy would have it tough to take & KEEP any Turkish province. Still you got to control the Mediterranean Sea to make any landings.

    Next an old sea power meets a new sea power, British Empire versus Imperial Germany.

    The British fleet starts with a large advantage over Germany(British 2 BB, 5C, &, 4T versus Germany 1BB, 2C, &, 4 subs.). Also in terms of IPCs, the Axis have a five advantage over the Allies, along with over a two to one advantage in men and guns.

    Here even with a Naval arms race, the British can keep the German fleet locked up. Also pick off the German colonies, one by one, but, still with 31 IPCs left for Germany, the British will not have much luck in any pernament landing(s) in Germany.

    Now if Germany controls the seas, and, takes out the British possessions, the British IPSc go out by a little over a half.

    The most Britain can do is take over Germany’s colonies, while Germany can do the same & take over Britain’s home islands.

    For this to happen, Germany needs one big sea victory over Britain, by building up her fleet, and, attacking before the distant colonial based British fleet gets to the home islands(or go for broke and attack in the first round).

    Round One: Germany builds two fighters & 2BB. British Empire buys one fighter & four subs., transports begin to move to Germany’s African colonies, while naval ships, from America, Egypt, and India begin to move to home islands of Britian. A trooper and a gun is landed in German East Africa(it falls for the lost of the defending trooper & British gun).

    Round Two: Germany builds 3C & 1fighter, all her fleet is concentrated. British Empire buys fighter and two BB. Lands in Togoland, and, defending trooper is taken out, for lost of an gun. Concentrating her fleet in home waters, Canadian C already arrive.

    Round Three: Germany buys 1 fighter, 1 BB & C & sub., and, attacks before 2 C & BB, arrive from Mediterranean and Indian area(to reinforce the British Home fleet). Axis lose 2 fighters, 3 subs., 4 damaged BB, Allies 3 BB & 3 C & 4subs. & 2 fighters are lost. British Empire goes and buys 1 BB & 1C & 2 submarines. Also takes out SW Africa for a lost of an trooper and destruction of trooper & gun.

    I give this game to Germany, she has in home waters 2 fighter, 4 BB, 6 C, 2 submarines, getting ready to break out of N.Atlantic(the damaged BBs will be repaired by Round 4). British Empire has 1BB & 3C & 2subs.(with a BB & 2C on the way, still hard to make up for the losses suffered already).

    Of course the dice may roll in favor of the British, but, not counting on that to happen. Another game the British could have won “The Jutland” type naval battle. The Germans can go for a long out destruction of the British fleet, retaking her colonies, and, taking out British possessions. Or settled for a political victory, get her colonies back and a colony or two from the Allied side.

    Total IPCs lost Imperial Germany 43 & BE 110.

    Earlier in another scenario the Germans attack the British Home Fleet in round one, they buy the same things. The Germans lose 2C & a sub. & damaged BB, for a British lost of an BB and 2C. Also the Canadian C & transport are lost, no losses for the 2 attacking German subs. The British buy the same, and, take German East Africa for the same losses. Here we do not have a blow out like in the previous scenario. The fleets with the included purchase units are, Germany 3 fighters & 3BB(one damaged) & three subs.(66 in points), the British still have 1 fighter, 4 subs., 2C & 1 BB(from Med. & India) & 3 transports(78 points in value). The battle can still go either way, final lost IPCs are Germany 27 & British 49.

    Both empires are close in start up units for land forces, and, IPCs. The major difference are the naval forces setup, no Battle of Jutland here, the British Empire has a definite advantage over Austria-Hungarian naval forces.

    Again the same problem for the British when they confronted the German Empire, there is no chance of a successful mass permanent landing(s) on the enemy coastline. A-H might never have much of a fleet, but, they can always build land/air units to contest any British landings(how many rounds for the British to build enough transports, if they ever made a difference, for a landing. The A-H can build two troopers for defense, just for every transport the Allies build).

    Still the best the British can hope for is a political sea victory, closing off A-H seaports(there is no colonies to take over in Africa).

    Even thought AH goes first, it does not attack British naval forces off Egypt, as it would face counterattack from the fleet off India. For the first four rounds it builds its air/naval forces, with half of the land forces in Trieste(the only AH province that touches the sea). The rest in the other provinces ready to help defeat any British landings. By staying in home waters, the AH fleet gets use of its minefield.

    By Round Four British Empire attacks, with only one transport loaded, they are going for a political victory, just destroy the AH fleet, and, make a very temporary landing. The differences in IPCs are only four, Britian cannot let AH build up their fleet for too many rounds.

    Of AH’s 4 submarines, 3C & 5BB, 1 transport, & two planes fight off British fleet of 9C(six more on the way) & 4BB & 4 transports(only one has a trooper & gun). The British lose a transport & damaged BB to mines. Both fleets are lost, except for a British transport that lands a trooper & gun(they do not attack, the AH let them leave). With six more British C to join the battle, the AH settle for a political victory, let the landed trooper & gun depart next turn, &, get there coastline back.

    Another scenario for the first four rounds the AH build just planes, and, using Trieste as a giant AC attack the British fleet with air & sea power. You have 13 planes & BB & C & transport attack Britain’s 9c & 4BB & 4 transports. The initial AH air fighters damage all BBs and sink 2C, while the British fleet destroys 6 fighters. Finally the AH fleet of a BB & C & transport is sunk for a lost of just two more British Cs. The British land their transport for a political victory, while the AH empire still has 6 fighters left.

    Next the British Empire versus the Turkish Empire, where a full military victory is possible.

    In IPCs the British Empire has almost twice what the Turkish Empire has, Britain has 5C to Turkey only naval force of 2C(plus 2 BB & 4 transports for BE), 10 guns to 6 guns, and, 34 troopers to Turkey 23 troopers.

    Except for the Syrian desert province, all of the Ottoman Empire is open to seaborne assault, and, British Empire has Egypt/Saudi Arabia as a springboard to actual invade the Turkish empire.

    Unless the British fleet sinks itself, it is hard for the Turks to lead any naval invasion.
    What is Turkey to do, wait for invasion, &, build up its land/air forces, or, attack SA/

    Round One: British Empire builds 5 transports off home islands, to be filled by troopers and guns on islands, already the BB & 2 C & transport(with trooper & gun), has set sail. Also from Canada transport(with same) & C has set sail for the Mediterranean Sea. Off Egypt British C, &, C from India wipe out both Ottoman Cruisers for the lost of 1 C. The transport off Egypt placed one trooper from Sudan on Turkish Jordan province(where the British Garrison of 6 troopers & 1 gun from Egypt has crossed into), and, set sail to India. Turkish Jordan is taken with no Allied losses & Axis lost of 2 troopers & gun. Off India transport with trooper & gun lands in Mesopotamia with BB for support, Mesopotamia is contested for a lost of gun & trooper Axis and 1 gun Allies. Also troops & gun assemble in S. Africa, waiting for transports.

    Turkey goes and buys 5 Infantry, also 6 Infantry & 1 gun from Smyrna and 1 infantry from Syria goes into British held Jordan, the province is contested with lost of 2 troopers each. In Mesopotamia the defending trooper is joined by 6 troopers & 1 gun from Ankara, losses are one trooper each side(the British are driven out for now).

    Losses in IPCs for turn one are 22 Allies & 40 Axis.


  • Round Two: British Empire goes and buys five more transports, with previous seven transports in or entering the Med. Sea. A transport from India lands a trooper & gun in contested Jordan. A second front in Mesopotamia will have to wait.

    Turks build four troopers & a gun. Attacks in contested province of Jordan, 11 troopers & 3 guns versus British 6 troopers & 3 guns. Losses are 4 troopers(12 IPCs) and British losses of 5 troopers and a gun(19 IPCs).

    Round Three: British Empire transport carries trooper from Sudan to Jordan, over Red Sea, along with troops from India and home islands, arriving in Jordan. Jordan now has 4 guns & 6 troopers,&, only one transport is on the way back to home islands. Britain also buys 2 transports, 2 planes, and, a trooper and gun.

    Turks last chance to take back Jordan, before five more enemy transports land next turn. Purchase five more troopers for the capital’s defense. Attacking force in Jordan of 12 troopers & 3 guns versus British’s 6 troopers & 4 guns. The Turks lose 7 troopers(21 IPCs) & British lose 5 troopers & 2 guns(23 IPCs). Already Mesopotamia & Istanbul & Smyrna forces were thinned out to help in the attacks on Jordan. Harder to have forces to try to take back Jordan, in the future.

    Round Four: British Empire buys a transport & tank & 6 infantry, more transports(empty) are heading to home islands. BBs clear landing for a trooper in Smyran(in order to keep any potential reinfrocements to Jordan from Istanbul busy). The rest are landed in Jordan, here 9 troopers and 4 guns take on the Jordan defenders of 5 troopers & 3 guns. The Turks lose 4 infantry & 2 guns(20 IPCs) & British lose 5 troopers(15 IPCs).

    Turkish Empire buys 5 infantry, traveling from Syrian desert 2 troopers & gun arrive to boster Jordens defense(all the eastern proviences have are three troopers & a gun, for defense, located in Mesopotamia). Also Smyrna taken back for a lost of a trooper each side. Except for the capital’s defense of 6 troopers & a gun, only reserves are 6 troopers in Smyrna.

    Round Five: British build 8 troopers & two guns. Transports arrive in Jordan and with 16 troopers & 6 guns take on the defending force of 3 troopers & 2 guns. For a lost of 4 troopers(12 IPCs) wipe out the Turkish defending force(17 IPCs).

    Turks build 5 troopers in capital, move forces from Istanbul to join up with forces in Smyrna, and, has the 3 troopers & 1 gun move from Mesopotamia to Anakara. All Ottoman forces are in the western part of the Empire, with Jordan lost and eastern empire abandon.

    Round Six: British Empire goes and builds 2 tanks, 1 plane, 1 gun, and, 3 troopers(to join the six troopers already on the home islands). Still transport in middle Med. Sea to land in Mid-East, of tank and trooper, &, in Atlantic approaching Med. Sea, of 3 transports of a trooper & gun each. Also 10 empties transports approaching home islands.

    British attack from Jordan with 11 troopers & 7 guns & 2 fighters, vs., 12 troopers & 1 gun. British lose 5 troopers(15 IPCs) & Turks lose 8 troopers(24IPCs), the area Smyrna is contested.

    Turks go build 5 troops for capital, &, using land forces already in capital, move them to Smyrna, to join their forces in contested province. Attack with 12 troopers & 2 guns, lose 11 troopers(33 IPCs). British lose 5 troopers & 5 guns(35 IPCs).

    Turkey decides to let Britain win with a political victory, with Jordan lost, and, Smyrna contested, &, eastern empire abandon, and, still Brits. reinforcement arriving. The handwriting is on the wall(the capital has a built up force of just 5 troopers to defend it!), better to have some empire left, than none at all.

Africa a transport and in S. Africa 2 troopers & a gun, to India a transport & C are going to pick up some of the three troopers & gun, in Egypt are 15 troopers & 4 guns & off it 2 transports and a sub., middle Med. Sea 2 BBs & 4 C & 2 transports(with one trooper & three guns), sea space 16 sub. and a transport with two troopers, home islands are 2 transports & 2 tanks & 2 fighters, entrance to Med. Sea are two transports with four troopers(ditto sea space 7).

    Turkish Empire Rounds 1-4, no combat yet, just
    building up mostly naval forces(for land forces buys a trooper & a tank in round four, &, one aircraft). Off Istanbul builds 2 subs & 2 BB & 1 C(added to the two C that were there).
    Spreads land forces, with Smyrna has 5 troopers, Istanbul has 2 troopers & 2 guns & tank & fighter, Syrian desert as reserve 3 troopers & 3 guns, Anakra a trooper, Jordan 6 troopers & gun, and, Mesopotamia 6 troopers.

    Round 5: British buys 1 BB & 3 troopers & 2 guns. In Jordan British attack with 15 troopers & 4 guns(for a lost of four troopers) destroy Turkish defenders of 6 troopers & 1 gun. In the seas below Istanbul, mines damage a BB & sink a submarine, The British fleet of 3 BB, 5 C, 1 sub., 2 transports(2 guns & 2 troopers) versus the Ottoman fleet of 2 BB, 3 C, &, 2 submarines. The British win with only 3 damaged BB left & 2 transports. Shelling from BB take out 2 troopers & gun, and, defending guns take out a landing trooper and gun. Land combat the British trooper & gun scores no hits, while the defending trooper & tank & gun, scores no hits(except the fighter is lost, takes out one of the damaged British BB).

    Istanbul is contested, will not allow Turks to build on their turn.

    Turks go, 5 Mesopotamia troops go to Ankara to eventually reinforce the capital, while two troopers reinforcements from Smyrna go to Istanbul. The Turks drive out British landing of trooper & gun in Istanbul(for a lost of 2 troopers), move reserve from Syria to Jordan(7 troops & 3 guns versus British 10 troopers & 4 guns, Turks lose 7 troopers & British lose 3 troopers). Already half the empire is undefended, of Mesopotamia & Syria & Smyrna.

    In all of the empire the Turks have is 6 troopers, 4 guns, and, one tank. In Jordan the British have 7 troopers and 3 guns, via transports are coming 2 guns & 2 tanks & 2 fighters, much less troops and guns from home islands, and, S. Africa & India.

    Ottoman Empire throws in the towel, better a peace with terms negotiated with a British Political Victory, or, full military takeover.

    Ge. Empire is eight provinces & Fr. seven provinces, with Lorraine for France & Alsace for Germany being the main invasion routes for those nations. Also France has five(four actually connected to each other) & Germany four colonies in Africa, for a total of 24 IPCs for France & 35 for Germany.

    This is going to be mostly a land war, with sea action & Africa a secondary sideshow. Can France hope to make it too expensive for Germany to get to the Med. Sea through Marseilles, or, give up a few African colonies to keep France intact(the numbers of land units are just too high to expect Germany to being over run by France).

    Round One: Germany goes & buys a fighter, trooper, gun, transport, sub., and, cruiser. Moves all naval units to sea space 8, but, for 2 subs. to sea space 15 to engage French BB & transport(damaged BB but both subs.lost). Fighter flown from Berlin to Munich. Troops & guns move down to France, from Ge. Alsace 7 troopers & 3 guns contest Fr. Lorraine defended by 6 troopers & two guns(Ge. lose 5 troopers & French lose 5 troopers & 1 gun, the province is still contested).

    France goes and buys 2 subs. & 4 troopers. Med. Sea transport picks up troops from Algeria & Tunisia, to attack German East Africa. Damaged BB stays in Brest, while Med. BB goes to join it, Brest transport goes to Africa to pick up colonial troops for attacks on German colonies.

    Forces from Picardy & Burgundy go into Lorraine to help uncontest that province(11 troopers & 5 guns & 1 fighter versus German 2 troopers & 3 guns, the Fr. lose 4 troopers & the GE. are wiped out). Paris sends out a trooper to help garrison Picardy & Burgundy sectors & three for Lorraine via Burgundy.

    Losses Axis 43 IPCs & Allies 19.

    Round Two: GE. goes, builds 2 fighters, 1 transport, 1 sub., &, 1 BB. Second wave from Alsale contest & battle in Lorraine. Air battle occurs & both sides lose their fighter craft. The attacking Germans lose 10 of their 18 troopers, none of the 6 guns, &, the defending French lose 10 of their 11 troopers and 2 of their 5 guns.

    Ge. fleet attacks Fr. fleet off Brest, mines destroy 2 GE. submarines, Fr. fleet of 2 subs. & BB is destroyed, all GE. has left is a damaged BB & 1 C(lost 2 C). Fighter from Berlin lands in Munich. From Berlin sub. & transport(with gun & trooper), goes and land in Picardy defended by 1 trooper(GE. lose a gun & Fr. lose a trooper). Picardy falls!

    In Africa just for the point, German colonial trooper from Kameron takes undefended French Africa.

    France goes and builds 1 sub. & 1 plane & 4 troopers, if she abandon Lorraine, Ge, will still be able to attack Paris via Picardy(not having to go through Burgundy with the retreated units from Lorraine). Fr. decides to reinforce Lorraine from units from Burgundy instead, the former has a total of 5 troopers & 3 guns(they will defend as it is too little to uncontest the Gr. force of 8 troopers & 6 guns, much less a third wave in turn three of an additional 16 troopers & 7 guns). Sends from Paris a trooper to Burgundy, &, also attacks Picardy, loses a trooper from each side, leaving a trooper in Picardy to garrison it.

    French BB & transport attacks GE. BB & C off Brest, only damaged Fr. BB survives.

    At sea troops from Morocco & French W. Africa land & take Ge. Kameron.

    German political victory, to get them out of Lorraine, and, let them have back Kameron & keep French Africa.

    Next France versus an empire that annoys them more than the Germans, the Austrian-Hungarian empire.

    AH & France do not connect on the board, also AH has a slightly higher IPCs than France(just two), but, in terms of land forces, it is not lopsided(like with Germany, AH have 18 more troopers & half more in cannons). AH does not have any colonies, but, France does, and, if AH gets naval dominance, those four colonies become a weak spot for France(especially sea zone 16 has Algeria, Tunisia, &, Marseilles France across from them).

    Still any sea landings in France(four provinces), much less AH(only six provinces, one which actually touches the sea), would take a many rounds to become a permanent conquest. So a political victory with naval dominance would be more pragmatical, than a full scale permanent naval landing(s) in either empire’s home provinces(Fr. starts out with a BB & 2 transports & 1 fighter more than AH, also French Africa colony is not invasion-able by sea ).


  • Round One: AH goes and builds 1BB & 1sub. & 1fighter. Moves troops and guns from Vienna to Trieste(it actually touches the sea). The rest of provinces send their troops(sans one) and guns to Vienna as reserve. A transport leaves with a trooper & gun eastward to attack a Fr. colony in Africa.

  • Next France versus an empire that caused so much trouble in Napoleonic times, the Ottoman Empire.

    This scenario is where the Turkish Empire puts its faith in building up the navy to prevent any Allied landings. The Turkish Empire is six provinces connect, while the French have twice that(seven home, five are colonies, with four of them that are connected). Compared to Austrian Hungarian Empire which had one sea coastal province, while the Turks have only one province that does not connect with the sea(open to Indian Ocean, Mediterranean & Black Seas). The Fr. have 8/12 spaces that touch water, even thought it is unlikely the Turks will be doing much amphibious invasions. The Turks need to wipe out any landings, if the province becomes contested after counterattack, and, the Fr. bring in more troops and guns, then it is all over(since they have spent most of their income on their navy).

    Round One to Three:France goes builds 3 transports & sub.(for all three rounds), moves transports and BB & C & new subs. off Italy, eventually to go to sea zone 28, to threaten both Jordan &/or Mesopotamia. Troops & guns & fighter go to Marseilles, for boarding.

    Round Four: builds C & 2 transports, moves fleet to sea zone 28, landings begin. Offshore three transports of three guns & 2 troopers standby, if able for next round, to invade Mesopotamia. France lands 12 troopers, 1 fighter, 2 guns(losses 6 troopers) versus Turkish army in Jordan of 5 troopers & 1 gun(all lost). Defending artillery and BB bombardment each took out one trooper.

    Round One to three:Turks go and build fighter & sub. & two BB, begin dispersing troops & guns(and later fighter) to outer provinces. Leaving a trooper in Ankara & Syrian desert.

    Round Four:builds 1C and a trooper, navy attacks invasion fleet with fighter. Also invades Jordan to contest it with 5 troops & 3 guns(left 1 trooper & 2 guns) versus France 5 troopers, 1 plane, 2 guns(lose 3 troopers).

    Turkish fleet attacks consisting of 2BB & 2C & 1sub. & 1 fighter versus Fr. 2BB & 1C & 3subsmarines & 10 transports. All left after battle are 2 damaged Fr. BB & 1 C and all transports.

    Political victory for France, with 12 transports in use, in Marseilles still 3 guns & 6 troopers to be picked up. The Turks have 11 IPCs to buy new naval units or a FEW troopers & gun for the next round, while the Fr. can buy more land forces for those transports & more naval units(with 24 IPCs).

    Better to give the Fr. something, like a chunk of Syria, than lose the whole thing.

    In this scenario Ottoman Empire hides her fleet in the Black Sea, &, starts to churn out land forces, to counter Fr. naval landings.

    Turn 1-3 France goes buys 11 transports & 1 fighter, moves troops & guns & fighter for transport off Marseilles, building up for combat for turn four, French fleets(2 BB & C & 3 transports) concentrates with new transports off Marseilles, IPCs of 24.

    Turn 1-3 Ottoman Empire buys 10 troops, 1 gun, 2 planes, disperses forces to cover outer provinces(especially Jordan & Mesopotamia), leaving middle provinces with just one trooper, naval forces go to protection of Black Sea, forces on defense waiting for French landing(s), IPCs 16.

    Turn 4 France buys 2 transports, 2 guns, &, 1 trooper, French fleet & transports set sail, landings in Jordan(IPCs 25).

    No sea battle, 2BB shelling take out 2 troopers, defensive 1 coastal gun fail to score a hit on landing forces, both Fr. fighters take out 2 Turkish fighters(for no lost), 8 French guns(with air support) & 11 troops(three never roll) score 10 hits. All Turkish forces are taken out of 9 troopers & 1 gun. The French lose six troopers.

    Turn 4 Ottoman Empire buys six troopers, counterattack will contest for a short time, the Fr. conquest of Jordan. Forces from Syria & Smyrna of 2 guns & 6 troopers score 4 hits. Fr. defense of 5 troopers & 8 guns & 2 fighters score 8 hits. The Turks are wiped out! and the Fr. lose 4 troopers( Ottoman IPCs 15).

    Political victory for Fr., even if the Ottoman coastal gun score a hit, a Turk fighter survive, Jordan stays contested, hard for the Turks to survive a second, much less a third Fr. landings(in Marseilles are new units & transports & already waiting 12 troopers for 11 transports for pickup, protected by 2 BB & 1 C). In Istanbul are 2C & 2 guns & 8 troopers & Mesopotamia are 5 troopers & 1 gun, Smyrna 6 troopers, middle provinces one trooper. With copious transports the Fr. can land more forces than the Turks can build.

    Next a Entente power that borders all the Central Powers, Russia versus Germany.

    Even thought Russia goes first, it would be better if troops & guns be moved into Poland for a defensive battle. So much German forces are in its way, for even a two space drive to Berlin, much less a need for some naval forces to build, to prevent any landings in the future, on Russia’s copious coastline .

    Also with the straits closed by neutral Turkey , the Russian Cruisers cannot get out of the Black Sea(much less any GE. ships can enter the Black Sea).

    Round Three: GE. has got to take full control of Lorraine, before more Brits., much less US land forces arrive, this round will decide if GE. will have to think about potential peace overtures. If possible, controlling fully Lorraine, GE. could try to take Burgundy or Picardy(not both), in the following round, with an army that is gun heavy. Traditionally that army gets cut off and destroyed outside of Paris(with GE. reinforcements unable to come to its aid, much less if GE. losses Lorraine). The other choice is to wait for more forces from Germany to arrive into Lorraine, of course by that time with 6-8 Brits. landing & about 4 US forces landing, makes the Allies defenses harder to crack. To wait one round boils down to one decisive attack & inevitable Allied counterattacks, in the next round. GE. got to go the traditional route or try something different.

    France is starting to skid on those ropes, in the boxing ring called the Western Front, builds 8 troopers. Moves more forces into Burgundy, cannot allow it to become invested.     This variant has no U.S.A. forces, just Russia, France, and, British Empire versus Germany. The Axis need to take Russia out of the war early and fast, hard for the other Allies navies to force through convoys to the east(those back to back mines are a real threat). Also the Western Allies have a poor track record for offensives on their side of the board(it helps that Germany will need to use most of its land forces for a quick settlement with Russia, and, naval action to mostly defensive purposes).

    Round One: Russia reinforces Poland, moves troopers & guns towards it(keeps six guns in Belarus, if and when, a counterattack is needed) . Buys sub in case her fleet is needed to help the Allies naval forces take over German home waters. Also builds fighter and 4 troopers.

    Germany half of its eight provinces are overrun, her forces are too weak to ever take Moscow(much less any reinforcements to get to Russia). Right now GE. forces are outnumbered by Russian forces. Builds sub., tank, &, 6 troopers.

    Combat in contested Belarus, trooper & 5 guns, versus, Russian 4 troopers & tank. Losses Axis 3 guns & Allies 3 troopers. Berlin garrison of 10 troopers enter Kiel, versus, Brit. 4 troopers, 4 guns, &, tank. Losses Axis 5 troopers & Allies 3 troopers, &, 4 guns. Kiel stays contested.

    Moves 2 subs. to Sea zone #10, versus, Fr. BB & C, all lost both sides.

    Germany settles for defeat, major political lost, losses all colonies, &, agrees to split Germany up(east part is the old kingdom of Prussia, the rest is much larger states, under a new type of Holy Roman Empire setup).

    If the round were to finish, Fr. will take over Hanover, and, Brits. will land 10 units to uncontested Kiel(or make a landing in Berlin). Axis will leave Russia(8 troopers and tank plus new units waiting to push out GE. 2 troopers & 2 guns), &, Allies leave the two new German states. With diminishing resources & provinces, better now than latter.

    Losses IPCs: Axis Land 115, Air 18, Sea 99, &, Allies Land 117, Air 36, &, Sea 120.
