Amphibious Reinforcement and Tanks question
-
@Krieghund Tanks can absorb hits as part of a battle resulting from an Amphibious Reinforcement (as opposed to an amphibious assault), correct?
on page page 22 of the rulebook there is this sentence, “(attacking tanks do not absorb hits as they are being brought ashore).” However, this is under amphibious assault into a hostile territory. Just want to make sure I understand when tanks don’t absorb hits on an attack.

@the_good_captain They can. Also from page 22, under “Land Combat - Reinforcement”:
If you offloaded units from transports into a contested territory (an amphibious reinforcement), you may conduct combat there, but it is not required that you do so. If you do, it is the same as any other land combat (see “Land Combat”, page 18).

@krieghund I may still be under a misapprehension about when tanks DON’T absorb hits. Do tanks NOT absorb hits only during the pre-invasion artillery strikes or during the entire turn of combat during an amphibious assault?
In other words, if tanks survive the pre-invasion artillery strikes, can they absorb hits in the subsequent amphibious attack?

@the_good_captain It is only during the pre-emptive artillery strike that tanks don’t cancel hits. Per the following paragraph, the land combat is conducted normally, except for battleship bombardment.
