If you purchase a case of 12 you will not get a full set, you will get about half. Their cases are prepacked with the same miniatures in 2 different cases. So you would require 2 cases to get a full set of rares, however, there is no way of telling which cases you are purchasing as they are not marked.
Axis & Allies Miniatures Set 4: D-Day

Fan requested favorites like the Supermarine Spitfire and Jagdtiger also roar into action.
Did a lot of people ask for the Jagdtiger? Kinda odd. Anyway, can we hope to see (1) More airborne support units, (2) Rangers (cause we needs us a Pointe Du Hoc scenario), and (3) Free French forces.
-
Not to mention Canadian forces…
-
I think I’ve heard mention of Canadian forces before. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna release Canadian and Australian forces in Set 3.
-
Australia in Set 3 and Canada in Set 4.
-
I’m wondering if I’m going to have to wait until Set 4 for the Nebelwurfer. God, or even Set 5, if they decide to do an Eastern Front set. Argh! Ok… I’ll be content with my Flak 8.8mm that I know will be in Set 3.

The British paratroopers look like some great units. Just like the Screaming Eagles but without Hard Charger. And one point less. But it’s hard for me to believe that Hard Charger is worth only one point.
-
Yea, I’m house-ruling the British Para down a few points. There’s no reason to take him as is, when for 1 point you can get a better Paratrooper… unless you’re playing a pure army.

I didn’t put my commentary in the website article so here it is now…
Sandbagged MG Team
It can’t move?! It does have 5 defense going for it. Basically, the unit is this: an expensive double shot throwing 7 dice each time that is hard to kill and impossible to deploy. If they are dug in and can’t move, then give them cover saves in any hex and make them 11 points! Come on, stop wating plastic and my time with units I’ll never use.Heroes?! Welcome to Middle School kids, today we’ll be playing Axis & Allies Miniatures. Again with the pandering to a market that doesn’t buy the game. Could be cool but probably broken. Surprise, suddenly I’ve got twice the firepower in that hex there!
-
Yea, the hero thing is probably going to suck. Maybe, just maybe they’ll do it cool; afterall there’s hero characters in Flames of War and they don’t throw balance off. But then again, FoW is a different scale game.
The “Dug In” SA should have been a tactical option for certain units rather than a special unit. Why can’t all MGs and Artillery dig in? Infantry and vehicles could too, but for the sake of game balance and time, let’s pretend they can’t. But Artillery and all MGs should be able to. Either that or change the deployment of the game. If units can deploy differently, then maybe the Dug In MG will be useful, but as it stands it’s useless to me. We play on 4x2 and 3x3 maps, so this unit won’t work. And I know from reading this forum and the other A&AM forums that I’m by far not the only one who plays this game on a larger scale.

There heroes are alright, and remember you haven’t seen the whole thing yet.
I really don’t like the MG42. I’m not a fan of static defences, and in this case extremely static. Since it’s nearly the same as an MG42 (stats, etc) I might make up a fun house rule:
At the beginning of your move phase you may replace any number of your MG42s with Sandbagged MG Teams, and vice versa.

That’s along the same thinking I’ve been doing.

I think a good idea would to have a ‘dug in’ marker for any units. One Action Phase could be used to dig in, but a Movement OR Action phase could be used to ‘saddle up.’
