The IJN was so far gone by this point in the war that there’s not really much they could have done to salvage their situation one way or another. The bit about the allies not having many LSTs in general is something I never knew before though.

Ships can use full technologies that were avaliable to that country’s navy. I have, to my knowledge, provided a ship from each cruiser class during the war. The Graf Spee was added to this list. The Java was added in honor of the Dutch Navy.
