Yes the lowest two bidders play axis (Germany then Japan)

on the other matter… the units that you recieve are at your disposal. You can do a “power afrika” or whatever. My bidding process does not interfere with that in the slightest.

SUD is right. if germany is getting that many IPC’s as a bonus and just buys ONE unit, there is somehing severly wrong with them, they coulve spen it on:

2 fighters
4 tanks+1 inf
8 inf
3 trannies (for attacking UK)
3 Subs

or any combination of the above.
basically, one battleship is not going to be enough to swing the game in germany’s favor.

Yeah, well that’s what you get when you face against Russian tanks and artillery. Poor Japs. :(

(though it is impressive when you look at what the Japanese still held after the war was over)

Xi kindly clarified for me in another thread that you couldn’t build an IC with money from the bid. Are there any other bidding related tournament rules?

what happens if you’re bid doesn’t divide exactly into new units? which country gets the remaining IPCs? axis players choice i presume? can you buy tech rolls with the IPCs? what about AAs (not that you’d want to, but still)? Can you place newly purchased fighters on ACs? can you place german units on japanese starting positions and vice-versa?
