There’s an FFA (Free For All) version of Revised/Spring 42 available on TripleA. It adds China to the 5 starting powers and each power has a defined setup at the beginning.
And there’s also another version called Battleship Row, IIRC, where the start positions are at Western Indies, UK, Madagascar and Japan.

You can either give players a full or limited set up at the beginning or just give each one a set amount of money before game starts. If the units are predetermined it speeds up the beginning, otherwise everyone will have to think a bit.
The decision to divide the territories between powers before game starts is new to me and interesting. Usually how I play is that start only with your capitol and have to conquer everything else (which is neutral and has usually 1 inf on it).
Victory is usually until there’s a clear winner.

And the House(hanger) has a very small “footprint”, about the same size as the base of an Infantryman, only square instead of round.

It’s simply a choice. No space used and a “Symbol”,……OR
A tiny space used by a more 3-dimensional representation. Pick whichever one you like.

Actually, Upside-down_Turtle comes from my early Star Craft days.  Basically, in a 3v2 game, I’d be the odd man out as Terran and essentially be a non factor.  I’d maybe get off an expand or two, but eventually “turtle up” and suck all my minerals dry.  Then I basically pray my buddies won the huge battle I had no part in.  Otherwise, I was easy pickings.

Best run I had was as the zerg.  Captured, like, ten minneral fields in the middle of the map.  Problem was, no one could attack anyone else unless they went through me.  It was like a giant Hydralisk meat grinder.    :-P They kicked me out eventually, but it was a good run.  8-)

Oh yeah, and I almost killed someone with a Zelot rush  :-D

That settles it, I’m Googling Star Craft II videos…
