• @calvinhobbesliker:

It doesn’t say you HAVE to do 9 VC. You can do 12

    Most people are doing 9.

  • Because after you have 9, you likely have economic and military advantage so there’s no reason to continue

But what about the original version with the 2 capital victory.

  • Official Q&A

In Classic, the Axis could also win an economic victory by reaching a combined income of 84 IPCs or more, so they could win without capturing two Allied capitals.

What’s the point in comparing the victory conditions of Classic with Revised/1942? They are very different games. Plus I don’t think me and my friends ever finished a game of Classic where a side conquered 2 capitals, the same way that right now we hardly pay attention to the number of VCs.

EDIT: forgot about the 84 IPC victory condition, which was a better condition to achieve on Classic. Btw, the 84 IPC production level can still be used to monitor a game’s progression: if the Axis achieve 84 or higher production for several turns then the game will most likely be won by them.

Oh. I think I’ve done that once maybe.  :-(

Can the Allies or do they need Japan and Germany.

But Japan can stack their island and Germany is like the US it’s impossible to hold West Europe.

    Way to easy.
