The conceit in “East & West” is that minor powers just bond to a major power, once they become active in the war. So, what I had suggested was that France would become part of Western Europe, and the Arab League would become part of the UK, if/when they’re at war with the USSR.
It just keeps things a lot cleaner, in terms of not having to reinvent the turn order, and other stuff which might add overhead.
World at War
-
what is world at war? i had never heard of it before i joined the forum, could somebody tell me what it is
-
its an expansion by Xeno Games. LOTS of new rules (ex. Germany can buy SS troops, America has the national guard). BTW, France is in it.
-
I’ve heard that the map for it is really badly designed, though.
-
so i guess it’s not the same map as world axis and allies? i thought it was like the same board
-
not the same board at all. the neutrals are worth money, Chinas a lot bigger.
-
is it as much fun as regular, or europe or pacfic?
-
So much more historically accurate, and the fact that it starts in 1939 is cool. Other then that…not really. Takes a year to play and 2 player sit and do nothing for like 3 turns, plus the rules arn’t very clear. If you wanna get one from them get East&West, thats a good game.
-
what about their game “the great war”? that looks pretty cool too… has anyone here ever played it before?
-
Never played that but I got the map. That looks good.
-
it would be hard though… there were no fighters/ bombers or tanks in 1914, so what other units could you have besides infantry and artillery? maybe you could have a cavalry unit which moves at 2 and attacks and defends at 2 and costs 5, or maybe a machine gun unit which defends at 3 but only attacks at 1 and moves at 1, but costs 6?
-
didnt they get tanks 1915?
So just for the first couple of turns you would have no tanks.
