• don’t know what an “ultralight” is…

  • neither do i, but it sounds cool

  • An Ultralight is: Generaly a single engine aircraft that does not require a pilot liscense to operate… usually costs 2,000 to 10,000 dollars… the “type” I’m referring to is a trike which is a complete “winged” aircraft which means the wing is moved singly by a control bar… can be either 1 or 2 man aircraft… now do you get what I mean    …

gees I forgot to log in again…tha was me  …

  • You may not need a license to fly one, but an Ultralight is a hell of a lot harder to fly than a real plane. I’ve seen people do so, and even the lightest wind screws you up. This is coming from a student pilot.

the pilot isn’t firing the “observer” is… and I you are going to be flying usually below 300 ft. …

  • Moderator

I’m not doubting your expertise… but I think I’ve got enough science under my belt to undestand wind forces…

The lower you fly the lower the wind turbulence right?

  • Correct. However, theres not much room for error in an ultralight. Keep in mind, you fall very fast when they close to the ground. And its small enough that a 20 mph wind is going to give you troubles. A gust could send ya down.

I’d personally never fly one. I prefer my nice safe glider…

so helo’s are the way to go?

  • if you could get one, you might try an “Auto-Gyro”. for those of you who dont know what one is, watch the Bond movie “You Only Live Twice” and look for Little Nelly. she’s easy to spot. its basically a mini helocopter with an overhead blade for lift and a smaller rear facing blade for propulsion. it’d could be used to hover or something. and would probably be eaiser to control.

    But is it two man?

this is about shooting out of something… you need two men…

  • I love paintball :)

I’ve got a spider compact special edition myself, which I use to crush the pathetic fools with their walmart brand guns and their wal-mart brand strategies :)

How does this Idea sound Vive?

  • The concept sounds very cool but I think you’d have a pretty hard time firing a paintball gun out of a plane. The wind would probably throw your shots off and you’d have a hard time steadying your gun to get a shot off. If you had an automatic paintball gun you could just spray an area and not have to worry so much about accuracy. Paint grenades would also pretty good, although you’d probably injure someone pretty bad if it landed directly on them!

  • Note I’ve never flown an Ultralight. However they seem very unreliable to me. I wouldn’t fly one period, let alone playing Paintball. Give me a glider any day.
