@Anonymous:
So if the battleship moves in to a country
BBs move in sea zones(aka SZs)
that has troops ,but no naval at it, then the battleship can just chill at the shore.
CORRECT
But then if they have an industrial complex there and they buy a new battleship or sub, and they have to place it, are those 2 in immediate battle? Or is it immediate battle once it’s my turn again? Or is there no battle until someone initiates it?
IT DEPENDS ON WHICH RULES VERSION YOU PLAY BY AND/OR WHAT VARIATIONS THE PLAYERS HAVE AGREED TO USE. THE MOST COMMONLY USED RULES(3rd edition) GIVE YOU THE CHOICE(ON YOUR TURN) TO EITHER ENGAGE THE ENEMY OR RETREAT.
What i meant before (to help clarify) was that with the planes you move 2 / attack / then fall back 2. Does a battleship move and do the ‘single shot’ attack and then fall back again? Or does it stay right next to the island it attacked?
YES,HOWEVER, REMEMBER THAT A BB CAN ONLY FIRE ON LAND UNITS WHEN SUPPORTING AN AMPHIBIOUS INVASION (TRANSPORT [TRN] DROPPING OFF INFANTRY[INF] OR ARMOR[ARM].
