Fantastic work! Your merchants in distress are an original idea with a beautiful execution. I love the hand painted deck on the well done carrier mod. Gotta have those arrestor cables!

Thanks. I don’t know why, logic says I shouldn’t be able to see those at this scale, but they sure look good.

Oh, awesome! I don’t know why the picture doesn’t display for me, but I can click on it to see you did the mod. I had to look twice at the New Orleans because the pair reminded me of the Portland & Indianapolis picture of FOlewnik’s ships, but when I noticed it (right before writing this post, actually) my first thought was, “Seamless!” It’s not just the paint job that’s different! Great job on the Measure 32/Dazzle camo on the Portland, too- did you use the Navy plans from Navsource.org? They certainly help. I found another source for Navy diagrams as well- https://www.wikiwand.com/en/World_War_II_ship_camouflage_measures_of_the_United_States_Navy. Good color guides and links near the bottom of the page to pages dedicated to each ship type (BB, CA, CL, DD, etc.) with Navy camo plans for every ship in the fleet that received a Dazzle type.

Keep up the great work and please keep adding to the post! I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d like to see more.

Primarily went with Snyder n Short at shipcamouflage.com. I preferred the way they have it laid out.

As I couldn’t stand the new oob u-boats, even my added sail section didn’t really fix it. Had to get some type VII and IX hulls from shapeways by Ebard.

I broke the deck gun off the one top left prepping the hull, so as a quick save, I used a bit o wire for a “snort”.

Nice job on the bow rebuild. The sculpt’s original bow is just a little too straight up, and you’ve put a more accurate angle to it so it better resembles what it’s supposed to resemble.

I completely forgot these were hiding out with the French navy. Originally they were super sub prototypes back when all I had was classic sculpts.
Project stopped since they’re the same size as the new generation boats.

Sides look great on the CV’s! That’s a detail a lot of people don’t bother with, but I think it adds so much.

I’m to obsessive to skip visible areas.
Although now I skip aircraft bellies, after someone slid one and left a paint skid across the board.

I had some real issues with lighting the U.S., the flight decks kept showing as black as the numbers.
Essex and Independence are Combat miniatures stickers with the flags flipped forward and numbers changed with decals.





My research had subs painted with 5-O or black, did half each. As my 5-O just disappears into the stock board color, had to paint the decks, or have free floating flags.

Really have to give a big thanks to Hbg for this one.
Been looking for a 3D airfield markers that wouldn’t break my budget, Hbg had these derricks on sale.
Replaced the top with a 4mm cube, filed a roof pitch in it and added a base for stability.
