On my map, the St. Laurence Seaway connects Ottawa to Sea Zone 21.
Can militia be built in territories you conquered on the current turn? Or only on territories you owned from the start of your turn?
It doesn’t say directly, but my interpretation (application of other rules) would be no, you cannot build militia in a territory you just conquered.
I.e. you can’t place a factory and build units with said factory in the same turn. So that would lead me to think you can capture a territory and build militia the same turn. Because militia are recruited from the population you didn’t control at the start of the turn.
Also if you can’t land a plane in a freshly captured territory, how can you recruit militia?
The correct answer is no.
@cdatkins74 yes, but a limit of one, exception for Germany if they are playing with the the propaganda marker, then they can place two militia on a newly captured territory.
@Martin-Schaffer The V-3 rules are better written and more specific than the current rules. I believe that the person who wrote the current version thought it was implicit that you couldn’t place units in a territory that you had just captured but they only stated that in the factory location part and not the militia part. A lot of work is being done to fix these ambiguities. The intent was that you couldn’t place them on the same turn though.
@GeneralHandGrenade thanks General, ok so the propaganda marker would allow for one militia to be placed in a newly captured territory, makes more sense that way.
