  My original post was unplanned. My intent was to look up the aforementioned content and so I registered and then posted my introduction as suggested by the introductory information once I was registered. I thought it would be more succinct and then forgot to make it more reader friendly when I finished.

  I suppose I could go back and edit it. I already did to correct a date so why not?

  I’ve seen much discussion about the online version. I’ve been playing PC RPGs for ~25yrs and have become increasingly frustrated with technical issues that I am ill-equipped to navigate even with copious amounts of research and attempts to follow very “simple” directions that “even a caveman could follow”. It’s nothing against the content creators, mind you. I am the one who is ill-equipped. :^)

  That’s partly why I’ve returned to “older technology” to scratch my itch and who knows what the future holds for our current technology.

  I’ll take a look at some of the other House Rules as you suggest.

  Have you got the payment confirmation from Paypal? Then you should be fine - and @djensen will award you the badge once he finds time.

  What I am talking about is that with the badge the Support Drive window should disappear, leaving only the “Thank you…” image. It’s a technical issue.

  @SuperbattleshipYamato It’s an intriguing idea. You would have to create rules for weather, wind and rain in particular. The fire can only move/attack in the direction the wind is blowing, for example, and maybe a d8 roll at the beginning of each round determines wind direction? Wind speed could also increase (or decrease) fire movement, construction of fire lines would impede fire movement (unless wind speed was high enough for the fire to ‘jump’ the line)…I don’t know how much of a market there might be for it, but I think there’s a game in there.

  TripleA is great for those with little block of time or that lives far from others that play the game, not everybody can leave the board standing there for 3weeks and if you can only play 2 evenings a week for 3 hours the game might take a while

  No, I think it is counterproductive to worry about attacking Egypt on G1 – especially with NOs off, it is just not that important, and you need every plane in the German air force to win 2 naval battles + 3 land battles on turn 1 at reasonable odds.

  If you want to go heavy in the Med, you can get excellent odds on taking Egypt turn 2 by instead using the German med transport to shuffle another inf + tank to Libya on G1, where it will be protected by the Italian navy for a turn. Italy will do the same, shuffling another 2 units to Libya on I1. If you pre-position another 2 units in Italy / the Balkans on G1, then on G2 you can ferry them to Egypt with your transport, allowing you to attack with ~8 land units, plus the German bomber, which can now be spared from anti-British-navy duties, plus also a German fighter that should have landed in Morocco. This is far more than anything the Allies can bring to the region, and if you somehow roll poorly, the Italians are there to follow up with an equally hard punch (~7 units, 1 plane, and 2 naval bombards).

  Italy can build any land units it wants for the eastern front; it’s just a style preference. Tanks allow you to threaten a ‘can opener’ for Germany in a larger number of territories, but they tend to be a one-and-done attack, since Italy doesn’t have enough cash to build many tanks; sooner or later Russia will call your bluff and force you to either attack with the Italian tanks into a stack of 2-3 Russian infantry, or else retreat. If you send in the tanks and Germany can’t take Moscow that turn or stack up with the survivors, then you’ll lose the surviving tanks next turn to a Russian counterattack, and you won’t be able to replace them anytime soon. But, if you build all infantry, then it takes longer to become relevant, and Russia can clearly see where it’s headed. There are pros and cons. I usually build a mix.

  I took the advice from your first post and applied to a game of triple A hard AI before you posted this response. I ended up coming to the same conclusions as above, so it is good to confirm I’m on the right track haha.

  I agree that the juice in Egypt isn’t really worth the squeeze. I strafed them in G1 to kill some units. And they end up running to Persia once you pressure India anyways. So the French tank and an Inf got shipped to the Eastern front via Med transport and I did the same with Italian units too.

  Also, the tip for transports to pressure India was money, getting it a round earlier than I had been was huge. Was able to rush in some planes to help defend Germany on J2 or maybe it was J3.

  Was the first time I beat the AI without No’s, it felt great crushing Russia, not going to lie hehe. It’s a slog on the eastern front and you have to be extremely careful and concentrate your forces at the right spot at the right time or you’re fooked.

  Agreed for the most part. I will add to those who haven’t played the game that the full effects of the Joe income advantage don’t come into play until the 5th or 6th round, so Cobra have around half of the game to try to eke out a victory.

  @Krieghund Thank you for the swift reply. I don’t think that thought crossed my opponent’s mind (we usually play Global, so the idea of attacking Germany…and leaving oneself open to counterattack…is not on the radar).

  @Rescue55-joe I believe the “10 IPCs for each country” that you are referring to are actually the National Control Markers, which are used to track both conquered territories and national production levels. As barnee pointed out, IPCs are not physically provided, and the Rulebook instructs us to track them on paper, but any proxy (such as Monopoly money) will do. See page 7 of the Rulebook for details on both National Control Markers and IPCs.

  In a nutshell, the National Production Track is used to chart your “income” using a National Control Marker. and every turn the “money” goes into your “bank account”, which is represented by IPCs, where it can be spent on new units (or saved for later).

  January 25, 2025, marks the 80th anniversary of the end of Operation Nordwind, a German offensive in north-central France (Alsace-Lorraine region) in a desperate effort to support their faltering efforts in the Battle of the Bulge. While the German army made some gains, they were unable to achieve their ultimate objectives and the pressure wasn’t enough to deliver an ultimate German victory in Belgium.

  Some people also mark this day as the end of the Battle of the Bulge. I’ll wait until January 28 as some others say that was the true end of the battle.

  @TheGheko91 Are you wanting to make it harder to beat the AI when playing solo?
  If so you can use the unit edit.Make the nation you are playing weaker by removing some starting units and/or add a few staring units to your AI controlled opposition.I find the AI will never capture 2 enemy capitals,so set it for economic victory,which you can adjust the numbers when setting up your game.
