I realise this is way off topic, but how could an American IC last more past J3 at the longest, against overwhelming airpower. And if it did, the sacrifice of resources to hold it would cancel out any advantage or tank pressure on Germany

Russia threatening Berlin? Not until Berlin is already threatened from WEu. If there’s no pressure in WEu or at least Spain, it will be Germany threatening Moscow in Kar or Cau with Japan in Nov.

I’m trying to broaden my mind hear, and imagine a USA first Jap strat. I suppose Hawaii would logically be a better staging area, from there you can strike anywhere from Alaska to Argentina. Plus, the extra IPC is a nice bonus, no need to give the American industrial juggernaut any help.

I can’t realistically imagine Japan invading the WUS… and if Japan was ever strong enough to pull it off… I’d hope the war was already effectively over.

If you’re playing an inexperienced player, you can do just about anything and still pull off a victory. The only reason to take Karelia from them, is to teach them a lesson

Hey I just found out this is for PC as well, wonderful! You should all try it out, then kick my butt at it.

Why not add them as a possible penalty for occupying enemy colored territoy. Roll a D6 for each territory, if it’s 3 or less, they lose an ipc to sabotage, partisan activity, holding POW’s and the such.

Unfortunatly, I am yet to see F911, but I fully support his right to make this film. It is the freedom of the opposing view that keeps us so strong. God Bless America and her opposing views… even the ones that may be wrong.

She hates the game! How can I further convince her of the legitimacy of the use of 3-12 hours with the boys. Of course, she’s always invited to keep us full of tasty snacks, but once she came and nearly destroyed the board. How do you guys keep the women at bay while you play. Maybe she just needs to try some of the varients…

PS I don’t mean to be so sexist about only men playing A&A, but from my experience, they have been tremendously less interested… and if you are a female who loves the game… give me a call :wink:

Watching his interviews (although they were on Comedy Central) he was very open about how slanted his films are, and that they are indeed just trying to push his political message through an entertaining, but heavily slanted look. As far left as the message leans, he is presenting facts, not all the facts, but definitely the convenient ones. And I’m sure he’s out to make a buck too.

I’ve been playing Solace a bit now, the AI isn’t too bright, and simply seems to get more money on higher difficulties. Has anyone else played it?

Not only are you going to lose W Europe to the Anglos, but holding or even taking Afrika will be improbable, leaving the Brits enough cash/resources to help fend off Japan

I agree with Darth, if the Russian are holding Karelia with only 12 inf, then there’s 2 possibilities:

1. The Russians have punch in Moscow to counter and destroy ALL of Germany’s armor and the Brits adn Americans will be having a field day.

2. The Russian player is inept, and any strategy will defeat such a player.

Playing as the allies with a less than substantial bid is like wrestling a girl, nothing to win, and everything to lose.

ps i’m 0-1 vs. women, but it was worth it

while this might make more historical sense, it’s only another hurdle for an aching Axis to overcome. Personally, I’d hate to be the Japanese player destined to fight an air war, or maybe just as bad, the German partner facing a single front Russia.

I am yet to play or play against a highly effective Japan First US strat, unless you count marching infantry for Karelia to Manchuria as part of shuck-shuck.

I usually start of with the transports and inf. As the US, you must get actively involved in the war immediately.
