    • RE: New Axis & Allies Global War Variant (free map)

Excellent map.  I can’t wait to print and beta test it.

I think it would be prefered to keep SZ 9 in one piece instead of splitting, as in v9 of the map.  Adding the sea zone will make naval maneuvers for German very difficult.  Is it so bad that London and Berlin can start bomb each other?  Isn’t that what happened?

Also, I agree with changing San Franciso to San Deigo.  While only cosmetic, San Diego was the more prominant naval port.

Is the full resolution Paint Shop Pro files for version 7 of the map available?  Any recommendation if I should spend the $$$ to print v7 or wait for a later revision?

My friends and I want to play the Global War variant.  Should I print v7 of the Map or wait for more refinement?  How balanced is the game?  Has it been play tested much?  Is there a ‘normal’ opening bid for the axis?

Why not make China its own nation instead of an american subsidary?

What impact does Italy not moving at the same time as Germany have on the game?

      Thanks!

    • The War Game - Massive Axis and Allies Variant

      http://thewargame.com/war_game_intro.html

I’ve played the creater of “The War Game” at Gencon and built a map to play with friends locally.  This variant uses a 6’ x 3’ map with advanced rules.  Check out the web site.  If anyone wants to play, I’m in the Kansas City area :)

      Some of the differences:
Naval pass through - If you win a naval battle in the first round, continue moving
Combined Arms - Bonus to attach and defence when infancty and tanks attack/defend together
Air Defence - Fighters can move 1 space on defence to join combat in the second round

This is by far my favorite strategic level war game.
