I downloaded the new version to my Mac today and also had the same issue with the flashing scramble box.

RE: Axis and Allies 1914 FAQ/Question and Answer Thread
It’s not allowed. Movement of land units into a neutral territory is an attack.
Awesome. Thanks for the quick response.

RE: Axis and Allies 1914 FAQ/Question and Answer Thread
Here’s a question that arose during a game of 1914 that’s still in-progress:
It’s turn two and the U.S. has not entered the war. The Great Britain player wants to move land units from Canada into the Eastern U.S., where he’s also moved a transport into the sea zone.
I’d never seen this attempted before, unsure of it’s allowed and can’t seem to find anything in the rulebook. Your thoughts? Thank you in advance.

@Young:
Another great video, YG. Thanks for posting. Any chance you could write a list of the first four rounds of purchases for the U.S.?
I will add that info to the first post soon.
Done.
Fantastic. Thanks, man.

RE: Best kept secrets of the board
@Young:
Now the times I have placed the German fighter in Tobruk during G1 instead of S. Italy… it was not attacked …
Indeed. I never hit Tobruk on UK1 if the German fighter has landed there.

RE: Invading the US
A Japanese landing force in Alaska might stop the U.S. from sending troops to Europe for a turn or two.

RE: American, Soviet, and French strategies
Here’s a basic strategy for those countries: Smash all Italian units quickly and whenever possible.

RE: Late Game Italy Strategy
@Gen.:
Italy is a reaction country. What I mean is everything depends on what the Uk does the turn before.
Indeed. I’m gonna have to agree with others who’ve said your UK opponent might be asleep at the switch. A solid UK player will do everything possible to make sure it’s a tough slog for Italy, which is what makes it such a fun country to play.

RE: Late Game Italy Strategy
I also like playing Italy. I’d be interested in more details about a strategy that enables so many huge gains early in the game. That might help with suggestions for what to do in later rounds.

RE: Lessons Learned Global 1940
I tried that French infantry assault on West Germany playing TripleA last night, thought it was a neat tactic to get those ground units into the action earlier, lets France go on the offense for a change.

RE: How often do you purchase new AAA?
I’ve yet to purchase any. I like AA but only use what’s available at the start of the game.
-
RE: Soviet Purchase Strategy
I like mechs for USSR but only in later rounds, and that’s if/when the momentum shifts in favor of the allies and fast units are needed during a breakout from the Moscow defense.

RE: Angels Landing: SeaLion gone Archangel
Reminds me of the old Nenetsia invasion strategy that was bounced around a few years ago.

RE: The METT Principle to killing Italy before it does anything
The Taranto/Tobruk/Ethiopia combo attacks are fantastic. When they succeed. I’ve played games where every one of them turned out to be a disaster for the British and that caused a few headaches.

RE: French Liberation
I only liberate France once the allies have established a strong foothold in Europe. By this point, the U.S. has held and built in Normandy and Southern France for several turns. The British have kept landing, were repelled and landed again and again, in Holland, forcing the axis to commit troops it can’t replace. There might even be a U.S. MIC in Greece. Once that’s all in place, I like the U.S. to liberate France immediately prior to the British assaulting West Germany. By this point, the clock is really ticking for Germany with Russia knocking on the door from the east. Granted, this if the allies successfully wage the long game and you’re not playing for victory cities. When ready, Germany gets attacked by Russia, the U.S., then British, and the final blow is dealt by France, and it’s kinda nice to see them get the last laugh.

RE: Attacking and Defending SZ6 (Surrounding Japan)
I think of retaking SZ6 sort of like recapturing Moscow. A real pain but not a game ender if a counter attack is included in your overall strategy.

RE: Are Mechs Too Strong?
Probably in the minority, but I’ve no problems with the cost or capability of mechanized infantry.

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
Does it make any sense for UK/ANZAC to DOW Japan on UK 1?
I tried something similar a few years ago, hit the Japan fleet with UK/ANZAC on turn 2. The end result was a catastrophe and I’ll never do it again.
