There’s a strategy posted on the Larry Harris website somewhere that outlines a plan in which you can take over America. It was with the Alpha 2 set up in mind, but I think it could still work in Global 2.0 - only problem is, it only works once. Even if you get diced, or stopped somehow once you’ve done it once, it can be seen a mile away and it won’t work. I don’t remember the details - I was able to pull it off in a game I played a year and a half ago - but it involves Japan sending literally everything they can muster straight across the Pacific at Western USA while Germany was parked off Gibraltor. Italy is used as can openers to pop and boats clogging the Atlantic. Even then it’s not fool proof, but it had a pretty high success rate and was fun to try the one time. If I can find it again I will post it here.

RE: Italian Weakness
When I’m playing Italy, I take control over Gibraltar, Southern France, and Egypt earning 5IPC and then crushing the British and french fleet in mediterranean and get 5IPC more.
Then taking Northern Africa and later Cairo and become even greater than Germany. If you take over Egypt, you’ve already got Cairo… ?

RE: Axis Europe Victory Conditions
The Allies don’t even have to hold it for a round. If England takes Egypt back from Japan, then Italy takes it from England, the Axis have to hold all those cities until the beginning of Italy’s next turn

RE: The Axis Advantage is Bigger Than You Think.
I agree with the opinion that it was a mistake to open play testing for the alpha versions to the public. I followed the progress at the harrisgamedesign website, and some of the battle reports and change suggestions made after were pretty freaking ridiculous. Trying to tailor a game of this magnitude to fit the real war is ridiculous. And the people who were suggesting wholesale changes to the set up based on a single game did more harm then good when it came to putting up worth while suggestions to balancing the game. I think it’s a decent game where it’s at. there’s so many variables when it comes to the dice though. But we have to remember that, that is part of the game and not to go claiming it’s wildly unbalanced because of a few games that you had bad dice. But I seem to be in the minority. Oh well. Maybe it would be better if I was more effective in expressing my opinion.

RE: Any AA Global Players in Edmonton?
I’m in Edmonton itself. It’s big, not Toronto big though LOL. It’s easy enough to get around though, and I’d be willing to travel a bit if it meant getting a face to face game in every few months. I’m trying to find hobby shops where I may find other players, but so far, no luck. Toronto is a pretty cool place though. I grew up a few hours south in London, ON. A lot of my friends back home play the game, so we usually get a game or two in when I go back to visit, but that’s usually only twice a year. Not enough for me!!

Any AA Global Players in Edmonton?
Any AA Global Players in Edmonton, or within a couple hours of Edmonton?
