You guys might have a post on this already. Can someone direct me in the best way to get a German unit into Egypt? Through an Italian transport or an IC in Yugoslavia? Thanks.

RE: Admiral Yamamoto's first global game
I have a plan that might work…we’ll see. I am going for the one-two German Italian punch on Moscow. americans won’t lend anywhere yet. I have two turns. Maybe theree because we have Gibraltar.

RE: Couple of questions
You need a transport if coming from the ocean. It is harder marching through Spain, since they are a true neutral. You attack Spain, all other true-neutrals become pro-your enemy.

Admiral Yamamoto's first global game
For our first game, we wanted USA to stay out as long as we could. We just ended turn 3. So far, the British destroyed a major German fleet on their first turn, destroyed the Italians at alexandria on their second turn. the Russians, captured Korea on their first turn, but the Japanese repelled them, and crushed their forces at Amur. however, the British are giving problems to the Japanese in the Pacific. the Germans cancelled Sea Lion and started their slow march to Moscow. the Italians are almost out of Africa. USA will start their attack in the forth turn. We will finish the game next weekend, or the weekend after.

RE: A brief after action report of a (temporarily suspended) game between Blitz and
I think the Italian fleet is there to replicate the attack on Taranto. It is like, why is France there, if only to be killed by the Germans. Or why have a British fleet, if it will be mostly sunk. However, there are two subs in the area that can attempt to sink the carrier and destroyer, but it might fail, and the might leave you with more British ships alive by England, and that is not good.
I am playing the game on Saturday, so I’ll post my opinions afterwards. -

RE: Tanks too expensive
How about a heavy tank? Move 2, 4-4? It would be like the King Tiger, the Churchill, or the Stalin tank. It would cost 8 ipc, or 7…just a thought. By the way, my extra 5 ipc will go to tech research.

RE: Kamikazes
I have not played it in AAP40, but I used it in AAP, and they were similar. They don’t cost anything, and adds flavor to the uniqueness of Japan. But you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. So I will always support Kamikazes in AA games.

RE: Cruisers?
I think after shore bombardment lost its first strike capability, some people might not care as much for cruisers or battleships. However, when destroyers were first introduced, they were more like cruisers, then what they are now. However, destroyers were good for sub hunting, though they were more limited in that regard as well, as they did not stop sub stalling.
I think whenever new units get introduced, some of them will be more respected than others. And as abilities change, so will their relevance.
I haven’t played this edition yet, but I used to build cruisers with UK, and US in the AA50. Didn’t people complain that Italians didn’t come with enough cruisers?
However shore bombardment rules are now weaker than ever. I think everyone has their play style, and what units work the best for them. Hopefully I’ll play this game soon, so I can have my opinion about the new mechanics in this game.
