The IC’s remain the same. Major (10 units) can only be built on originally controlled, non-island spaces with 3 or higher IPC value. Minor (3 units) can be built on controlled non-island spaces with a 2 or higher IPC value.

Greg,
another well run tournament. Thank you. How you can keep everything organized with all the A&A games out there is truly amazing. We only need to extend GenCon for an additional week so that we can play '42, AA50, and Global instead of having to choose :-(
Jeff,
I see your name and Gregs’ in the new rulebook for Pacific 1940 2nd Edition. Congratulations. I guess I better not play against you. It would be hard to explain why a playtester lost.
Congratulations on your victory in AA50
Carl
I have set up the 2nd Edition next to the first edition and here are some observations:
I believe that with the new setup the balance of play is much better. I played the first edition against a guy named “Jake” previously and anyone knowing Jake will understand why I never played again. He could take Japan and destroy anything the Allies did, even with giving the Allies many additional units. Hint: Jake would lose air units before ground units in Asia. With 8 less planes I do not believe that will be happening as much.

Pictures of the unit identification pages should be coming shortly. The Britsh land units disguised as ANZACS are British.
Enjoy.

So Japan does not start with any troops in Kiangsi?
or is that just a set up error?
Some errors on Japanese setup, there are 3 inf, arty in Kiangsi and ftr/tac air in Kiangsu. New pics of map are being processed along with pics of ANZAC air and UK mech inf.
It seems that most land areas in China have 3 inf, arty for the Japanese.
SZ6 is fixed, as in it no longer borders Korea?
SZ6 surrounds Korea, SZ5 issues are corrected.
I sent pictures to an older member so that they may be posted in the forum. I guess I am too young to do these things.

Due to some luck in a raffle at GenCon (which we seemed to lack in the AA50 tourney) I have been able to secure the new 2nd Edition Pacific and Europe.
The Pacific map has SZ6 fixed, Honolulu on the right Island, and new pieces for the Anzacs (which might never see the board). The convoy boxes are easier to see also. I have not opened the Europe game yet. See squirecam.
Initial setup units have changed for each country, but the map is essentially the same except for the fixes.
If someone can instruct me on how to upload pics I can do that too.
For those who do not know me, my partner and I won AA50 tournament at Gencon in 2011.
Carl
So Charles, maybe I should open my copies of Europe and Pacific 2nd Edition and see what lies within?
Congratulations on your victory in AA50.
Carl
@squirecam:
Great to meet you at Gencon !
Just so we are clear, the tournament we won was AA50, not global. But I do have a copy of Europe 40 2nd ed. My partner sold the Pacific version, but I can report no new countries were added and the map lines were drawn much clearer. Seemed more “glossy” in color.
I am happy to open G40 and answer any Q about changes, just give me a day to unwind.
Also congrats on your finish. Walt is a good player and I’m glad you guys hooked up and made a run at the championship.
