I’d have to agree completely, but you left out Swing, Jazz, Jive and Big Band.

Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Glenn Miller, etc. that music still works.

France had Edith Piaf, but otherwise I don’t think many would choose Wagner over The Duke.

Emperor Taiki what you like seems to be darker so if you want to listen to a Christian band like that there is a band call Red that you might like.

Just based on my knowledge of music, math and physics, I’d say that your speed would have to be pretty close to the speed the grooves were designed for in order for the music to play in a recognizable format.  Too fast and you’d miss notes (tires skipping over grooves) and have deformed notes (too many vibrations traveling too close together.)  Too slow and you might not generate a fast enough wave to carry the melody either.

The article does mention the roads were designed for 55 mph.  That leads me to believe there is a finite range of speeds that the road would function for.

As for tiring of the music, one would think it would be something you would not drive over on a daily basis.  Dunno.  That’s why I mentioned it would really suck to live by the street built like that and you’d probably want to put it in a touristy place like near a boardwalk, pier or famous gathering place where merchants can fleece the tourists.

You could use the back ground music from “Pearl Harbour” for the Japanese. (I know the movie is weak)

You know what I mean? Everytime a scene from the moive cuts to the Japs this awesome drum beat kicks in. The best part of that movie is the scene that has a far away shot of Hawaii then a one Zero flies into frame and then another and another until the whole sky is filled with Jap Zeros and that deep, epic, drumming is going on……tight. I get goose bumps watching it.

Now that I’m thinking about it, in addition to the drumming there is some flutie type piping going on. It sounds very “far easty”

Berlioz? Debussy? Chopin (half Polish, half French) The only good things to come out of the Romantic movement (aside from certain nationalist composers)? (well, Verdi if you like opera . . . )
and you missed Rachmaninoff, Rimsky-Korsakov, the Mighy Five etc.

I like the french very much, but i am clearly not a big fans of their music. Maybe sometime Ravel, but certainly not Debussy, not that french music is crap, i have 1 cd of Debussy, but i never feel to listen to it.

Sure i missed a lots, Glinka, Borodin, Beethoven, Bach, Pachelbel, Schubert…
