This makes me sick.
This act was originally going to be passed as an independant act back last summer. However, other matters delayed the passing of the act. Now, the act is included in the Homeland Security bill.
Basically, heres the bad part of the act (there are some Anti-Childporn and other good changes in the act).
Previous, to get access to a person’s electronic documents via a person’s ISP, you had to either (a) Display a Search Warrant or (b) Show emminent danger. An ISP, much like a Patient-Doctor agreement, could not give away this information otherwise.
If this is passed, which is likely, the situation changes drastically. First, ISPs can freely give away any information of it’s users (E-Mail, Internet History Records, ect), at the request of any (ANY!) Government employee. This stretches from the lowest Government employee to the President. Yes, according to the bill, a Mailman can access your email on request. No warrant required.
This is an absurd upset of my constitutional rights. If this is passed, privacy on the internet will be nulled. Read more about it here:

Americans, you can also find a link on that page to contact your local Congressman directly and tell them your opinion about this intolerable act. This act could be passed in days, send the email today.
