@Rabbi:
A man who survived the Nazi death camps, but who lost his entire family, was once asked if he hated all germans. He said that he did not. When pressed further he explained:“I believe that there are only two types of people in this world, those who are decent, and those who are not, and both types exist among all groups of people.”
This should be the means by which we evaluate others: decency. Not by race, color, creed or religion.
For those who are decent, peace is holy; for those who are not, war is holy. For those who are decent there is holiness in saving lives; for those who are not, there is holiness in taking lives. For those who are decent the loss of life - all life, be it black, white, or yellow, Christian, Moslem, or Jew - isto be mourned; for those who are not decent, one proudly “takes credit” and celebrates the loss of human life.
I am distressed that the name and face we remember daily is that of Osama bin Laden. Let his name and those of his accomplices be forgotten by mankind; let their names remain with them - in oblivion.
I want to remember the names of those passengers who courageously brought down the fourth hijacked plane saving the lives of those who were its target. I want to remember the names of those firefighters and policemen who put themselves in harms way to save others. And I want to remember the name of that man, who, while others exited the building, stayed behind, fully aware of what it meant, so that a quadriplegic co-worker in a wheelchair would not be abandoned and die alone.
But even if I do not remember those names, God remembers them for eternity.
For it is through their example of genuine acts of holines, that the human spirit will continue to soar. So that, with God’s help, we will ultimately conquer the forces of terror and evil, and make the world safe once again for us, for our children and for future generations.

I find it interesting that survivors of September 11, 2001
often mentioned God in comments and recognized Him as
the strength that has seen them through their ordeals. - Xi
