my thoughts about this…

you are getting 18 pieces totally random. appr. 9 axis and 9 allied pieces. building an 80 point army. if you pull a 30-40 point rare tank awesome… but what happens if you pull a 50-65 point tank… you almost can’t use it. and what if you get the pieces i consider “time and place pieces” that have uses, but not every day army usues… it just seems it could get too unbalanced too quickly with only 2 boosters totally random.

however i am thinking 3 boosters drafted instead of random gives you more options… i would prolly suggest 100 point army or true tournament style with 2 different 80 point armies. with the draft you could either draft heavy axis or heavy allied with 1 army or if doing 2 armies makes you select the best piece from the box. it takes some of the randomness of opening out of the picture. then if you pull that 50+ tank you could be more inclined to take a good UNC instead and hope that you are getting passed a 30ish tank that the next player didnt need for his army.

honestly there is so much that you could do… and withing the next 2 weeks I will be doing this… will post all rules and results after then.

what we do know… it will be 4 players with prolly 3 (maybe 4 if we have lots of time) boosters choosing (1x reserves, 1x d-day, 1xcontested skies) or we could sub in a set II or base set as we will be doing the 10 pack to save money and give most variety.

i just bought 4 boosters 2day n was lucky enough to pull 2 aircrafts ( 1 IL-10 Sturmovik n 1 messerschmitt bf 109 E) but the last last 2 boosters i got 2 Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind…(which one of is to be traded in the trading post…which i have already update… :-D)…most of the uncommon vechicles i got was frm the german faction…most useable was the elite panzer IV ausf d…the uk  bofors l60 is a good anti aircraft unit…the infantries are also impresive specially the 82mmm pm 37 mortar, communist partisan, quad 50, snlf fanatics the bmw r75 20mm flak 38… how about u how did u do?

I had the same as above, except i had a carro armato. Its better to get the boosters and then if u have any dye use them cause what u get for 30 bucks isnt worth it. PEACE

On GW: Oh if I could only have all the time and money back that I spent on GW.  The only game of theres I still even play is Blood Bowl, and only because it’s not nearly as cost intensive as the rest of their games.  GW games aren’t bad, and can be quite fun, but I found it’s just not worth the effort, especially with lugging all your boxes of units around.  AAM is sooo much easier to transport, set up, play.

Amen to that. I have case upon case of 40k stuff- and that’s just for ONE army. A&A? A Walmart tackle/tool kit with one army in it…lol

In general, you’ll spend less money on a game like this than something like Flames of War.

As I look over at my unpainted, unused FoW models I can only sigh and agree. :)
