Rules Error or Omission?

Sorry if this has been suggested before!

I think that the game could benefit from a land unit scramble option into adjacent land zones from cities or a FOB.

I noticed a potential need for this when I was playing Germany and I had fighters in Paris so that I could better defend the French region. I was annoyed that I couldn’t have my armoured units (mech, med. tanks, etc) stationed there like IRL to respond to a seaborne invasion.

I think the rule should be either:

Up to three armoured units (or units with a movement of 2) can scramble out of a city to defend an adjacent territory. or; Instead of a city perhaps a FOB can be added into the game to act as a land unit airbase for scrambling purposes, or even movement purposes as well (I think that the game is too short and land units movement needs a buff, perhaps +1 movement from an HQ could help).

I think this would add quite a nice dimension to the game. Making cities more important and making it easier for nations to go on the offensive by not needing to stack as many units on every territory (think Japan on the Chinese coast).

Maybe the incoming scrambling land units can defend at a -2 on the first round of combat (minimum 1 defence) to simulate them coming late to the battle (not as fast as fighters).

@insanehoshi I could see 3 for the big one for me it’s hard to tell I think we might play test it with the little gliders at 1IPP and the big ones at 2 I could see where someone might think thats a bit light though

Optional Rule 10.2 is in the non-combat section.

During non-combat, you land the aircraft that took part in combat (10.3) and can move aircraft that did not (10.1), so both options would be available.

Why not just do it so that 1-6 = pay bank for loses, 7 = pay 1 extra, 8 = pay 2 extra, 9-10 joins your side, 11-12 = joins your side plus reserves called up.

What are the numbers in the brackets on some of the countries mean?

Thank you guys. I played a dozen games of A&A in my life, so I am far from an expert. I prefer asking than being wrong.

This isn’t air tight, but it is what I am play testing.

Troop Saves
• Infantry Units may be Saved by friendly Medics, Hospitals & Hospital Ships that are in range.
• Saving- After combat, roll 1d12 per infantry casualty. On 2s, you may return an infantry (same type as casualty) to stage 2 on the production chart. This unit can be place at a hospital or hospital ship the next turn.

Medics
• Cost 1 IPP, The Medic token may be placed under an existing standard infantry unit in supply
• Medics save friendly infantry units in their zone.

Hospital Ships
• Cost 1 IPP, The Hospital Ship token may be placed under a naval transport in supply
• May save friendly infantry units in amphibious assaults, and adjacent land zones
• Healed troops may return to the game at Hospital Ships.

Hospitals
• Cost 3 IPP to build
• All Cities (red dots and circular land zones) have hospitals inherently
• Healed troops may be returned to the game at Hospitals.
• Hospitals save troops in their zone and surrounding zones.

Obviously, if a Hospital location is captured, or Hospital Ship/Medic is taken as a casualty during combat, saves cannot be attempted.

Upon reflection, I think what I was really getting at with the way the beta rules are written is that they never explicitly state that surface warships other than Destroyers cannot attack submarines with the help of an aircraft on MAP. It is only implied that other ships cannot do this.
