Use of transport ships

If you do go down to Italian Somaliland with that transport, you could bring the transport from India with two units to help. That and the bombardment is usually successful.

That is a lot of resource being diverted from ground troops. The war with Russia is won on land.

By the time you have bought a major IC, an AB, a bunch of destroyers and some TTs, you have spent 80-90 ipcs? That is a lot of ground units lost.

Plus those TTs and destroyers are stuck in the Black Sea and redundant in a few turns time - unless you attack the strict neutrals.

I use OOB rules.
I bought this game in November and play one on one against my usual A&A opponent.
We’ve played seven games so far and the axis have won four…allies three. So we think it’s pretty balanced…the only thing we don’t like is the starting IPC’s for Italy. You can’t buy sh*t with that and they lose half of their starting fleet before it’s their turn.
But since the axis have won four out of seven it hasn’t really affected the overall outcome.

My suggestion is to go ahead and use the Alpha with blue changes.  Our battle group just played a game of E40 this past Saturday and we used that setup and rules.  We did, however, change US NO #1 to read:

1. Collect 10 IPCs per turn for complete control of the continental US (CUS, EUS).

The reason that defending Surprise Strike casualties are moved behind the casualty strip is that some of them may be subs, which will return fire if there are no attacking destroyers.

okay here is what I do take (1sub, 1fighter) to 109 (2subs, 1fighter, 1tatical) to 110 and 111 (battelship cruiser fighter tatical) to 112
(infantry, artillery) to Normandy (5infantry, artillery, 4 mech, 5tanks, bomber) to France

-this will let you take out most of the RN with just subs as loses and there will nothing that the U.K. can do take europe.

france will be controlled by Germany. just build a destoryer in seasone 112 to prevent fighter attack on your navy. build a minor factory in Romaina this will frist let you build units in a better position in eastern europe + let you build subs for the med. with this and Normandy you should be able to help out Italy enough

If you want more naval battles, then increase the value of the convoy zones.

Or increase the number of sea zones to create an air gap.

That could work.
