Generally speaking powers defend together. However in G40 there are powers that start off neutral (Russia and USA) or not at war with each other (like Japan and UK/France). You could have a case at sea when you attack a sz with units from multiple powers, and can ignore the units that belong to a power that you arenât yet at war with.
Political question regarding Japanese and US relations
-
So my friend is playing Allies and declared war on Jap rnd 2.
Iâm thinking I am now at war with UK Pac and ANZAC but not US. And furthermore that US still canât declare war on me until end of US3. I Attack Dutch Islands, Borneo, Malaya and Shan state on J3.
Can the US attack me US3 or am I Right?

You are right Bass, assuming your friend playing Allies declared war on Japan with UK and/or Anzac.
In that scenario Japan is provoked and the US wonât enter the war until the end of US3. Unless Japan declares war on US before then.
-
And to make it 100% clear for you, the U.S. can declare war at the end of turn 3, so they canât attack you until U.S. 4, but they collect their war money at end of U.S. 3.

Thanks guys. đ
