Did you ever play alone?

Well you’re lucky you still have been playing Diplomacy. As it is I don’t get nearly as much of that game as I should. I still remember the good old days of seven player Diplmacy where special “secret treaty and alliances” rooms were set up as each player tried to vie for political and military support from one another…. Sniff

I play alone quite a bit. And I agree, I always lose!

When you do play alone, do you always have a personal favorite? I mean you try to be fair and equal but when there are situations that require the finally word by another player, do you side with one nation over the other?

Ha when I usually play solo I make sure Britian goes down Hard and USA manages to stomp every country (including the USSR in world domination mode)! Sorry… just American revolutionary feelings.

Well I guess you can try duking it out with real players. Just seeing Germany and Japan go at it because “only one can be king” is quite the spectacle. And the USA vs. USSR in Europe and Asia actually mimics what might of been. Of course Technological developments are much more important here.

I tried to play the board game by myself to test out new strategies, but I never managed to round turn 2 because I knew I was favouring one team.

By the way, how long is one game lasting when you play the board game, on average that is?
