• Hello everyone,

Some of my HBG pieces (particularly the planes) are quite warped. I was thinking of heating them in boiling water to soften them to unwarp them. Does anyone have any experience on whether this will work or not?

  • In general with any small, slightly warped plastics, warming them up in nearly boiling water, straightening them (GENTLY) by hand and then immediately dunking them in ice water is the best method.  You need to dunk them in the ice water to cool them as fast as possible for it to hold the shape properly.

However, if the warp is huge, this may take several attempts to get it to go back to straight (only straighten a little bit at a time to avoid snapping the plastic)

  • Thanks  :-) that worked a treat. My planes are now all airworthy!
