Man… you guys get it only about 1/10th as hard as I give it on most other wesbites.

Go to www.falloutonlineforum.com and ask around Hahaha.

  • Hell, Oshawa is only 90 min from here! sounds like an idea!

  • I’m in upstate N.Y. that cant be too far

  • I’m 36 and I first played Classic when I was 12 with my baseball buddies- great memories.  Played a little in high school and in college.  Picked it up again after old Europe and Pacific came out in 2000 (LOL- I was reading the rules on my honeymoon in the Keys  :-D) and been back into it solidly since 2004 when Revised came out.  Global is Awesome!!!

  • I’m 34, been playing the A&A line since I was 8, so that’s 26 years.  I fell in love with the mpa and the little tanks and ships.  My brother’s friend had the first game, and we borrowed it a numebr of times.  When I was in high school I purchased my first copy of traditional A&A.  In college I found out A&A Europe was coming out, and I got super excited and got it.  I participated in the online forums a lot, and started participating in a thread to discuss a possible A&A Pacific.  I caught Larry’s attention and ended up being an official playtester for A&A Pacific, in fact my name is in the instruction manual.  I kept interest in A&A and got D-day and BotB.  I then picked up revised.  I lost interest in A&A for a while and didn’t get anniversary or anything.

When I saw A&A 40 coming out, I regained interest in A&A and I’m loving this newest game.  I have played many face-to-face games against my nephew, and also played about a dozen online games on these forums.  I play as often as possible, and I spend a lot of time thinking of off-the-wall strategies to employ in my next game.  My tried and true axis strategy doesn’t fail very often, but it gets boring, so I try new things all the time and they frequently fail.  All good, love trying out new strats.

  • I remember when I was 7, we just moved to our new house and my dad had put this mysterious game on a high shelf in the basement. It read Axis and Allies and all I could see was this awesome dude with a pipe in his mouth. I asked my dad about it and he said it was a boring and complicated game and I wouldn’t like it. A year later I convinced him to take it out and me and my brother who was 5 set the game up with my dad’s help and when we were done I asked him how to play and he just shrugged and said I don know. I was so pissed that we spent an hour setting up and couldn’t even play the damn thing. Wasn’t till I was 11 that I spent a week reading the rules over the summer did I finally figure out how to play. Been playing ever since and me and my friend have kept the same ftf group for like 9 years.

    @Tall:

1940-Global with 3 players is a little bit of a stretch for us as my 87 year-old Dad only likes to play 1 country.  And the MAIN reason I play face-to-face instead of on-line games is I prefer the interaction between people in a f-t-f game.  Looks like we might start “recruiting” some college “opponents” here soon I guess.

    “Tall Paul”

Me too, I like moving my own pieces, rolling my own dice, and feeling paper money in my hands…. playing online feels like a video game to me.

I’m sure it’s quite a distance to travel paul… but ever thought of going to FMG’s 2nd Annual event in Spring?

There’ll be some competition there, I’m looking at going… Would love to do battle against you and your “old” men. :)

I will be there 100%, and would be glad to play on the “old men” team (I’m 39).

I’m thinking of bringing one or two “costumes”  - uh, I mean uniforms.

    Would anyone else?

We should pre-arrange the teams.  Make a full slate game, or two.  With set players, who have a plan BEFORE hand.  ALL Elites at the table.

I’m in, but the only costume I will be wearing is my Habs Jersey. I know a good player that reads here but never posts (or maybe he does, and hasn’t told me his handle name). He once worked for WOTC, so maybe that will be enough celebrity status to get him into the main event game.

I will start a new thread for this topic.

  • I’m in!

  • I wish I could be there and bring my play group. We are all young as I said before and I think it would be a great learning experience, and I think it would be neat to put faces with names and meet everyone but sadly I can’t :(

  • Liaison TripleA '11 '10

    It’s ok.

Tell your friends.  I will kill in their name. :)

I would love to come to the gaming convention and put a whuppin on you all. But alas I am in Florida and I cannot drive that far for a board game. I am retired and probably the oldest member of this forum by far. But if anyone is ever in central Florida just PM me and I can set a game up in my war room. Located in an air-conditioned room in my shop. So the summer heat is no problem.

    I have to “fly” out.

So should You!  Probably get tix for $500 - $700 round trip.

If you’re so DAMN old then you only have so many “good” years left.  :D  I’m calling you out boy!  Get in shape for April 2011, do some walking/jogging/training,  get your butt on a plane, and get up to Oshawa.

When was the last time you were there?  REALLY?  You need some Canadian Spring!
