Who’s in on it this year? Let’s compare our teams, offer some strat, follow up on our first games. Anyone? GG?

@Guerrilla:
I am going to drop Cook if he does nothing this next week. I should figure that “Hassle” wouldn’t throw worth anything in Tennessee. Right now, I am working on getting Marion Barber off waivers. Someone dropped him cause of the injury and hopefully I’ll nab him in place of Delone Carter.
I dropped Andre Roberts for Emmanuel Sanders, and I am thinking of dropping him for Brandon Lafell, but that’s putting a lot of faith in the golden arm from Auburn.
GG
Marion Barber should have an upswing year, especially if Forte needs to sit. I always liked him but his production had gone downhill in Dallas. I think the O-Line is part of the blame there. I also dropped Carter knowing if he does show up later he’ll be available from waivers/FA. I still have Daniel Thomas and am unsure what he’ll do and may need to trade him out for someone else.
Also, as of right now, I’m leading the game I previously lost with the new stat corrections by .6 points (instead of losing by .3).
Sure Barber has anything left? Soilder Field is the thickest grass in the NFL, that’s not a good combination with a guy that has thought to have lost a step.
-
Well, looks like Jamaal Charles is gone for the year in 2 of my leagues, which sucks because I lost my top RB last year early in the season (1st game, 5 minutes in). I already have Dexter McCluster in one league and will pick him up in the other…he ought to do well and hasn’t been bad as a #2 RB or flex. Thomas Jones will get some more carries too, but I think most of it will go to McCluster.
Sorry I didn’t get a chance to respond to your question, GG, but you got a good one anyway, so hope it worked out for you.

I watched him in the preseason and he looked good. Watching the current Dallas RBs compared to last year makes me wonder if it’s not so much Barber has changed, but the O-Line and offensive play calls due to coach change.
-
Thanks Jermo, it worked out. Sanders nabbed 59 points for me, which wasn’t bad. I’m gonna drop Mike Williams for Brandon Lafell. He continues to rise in stock, and if the golden arm from Auburn keeps it up, he will be the perfect W/R.
This week I lost (Malcom Floyd went down, Desean had his “half-a-game” injury" and my opponent had Vincent Jackson, Mr. 222 fantasy points), but I did have the best TE of the week in Tony Gonzalez. Who says you can’t have a bounce back?
I am sorry about Jamaal. I think you’ll have a perfect back up though. It’s rough, cause I know if Jamaal had not gone down, he would have been carrying more of the load that Cassel is unable to carry. Dexter does have 116, so in view of Jamaal’s #'s this year, you’re already ahead.

Yeah, I’m sure I’ll be fine, but I do have some other injuries to worry about. I’ve only lost one of six games so I guess I can’t complain too much. 8-)
-
Well, I finally pulled a win out of somewhere. McFadden was a beast, Schaub was actually good. I think DeSean is pretty much finished, and I might be correcting my previous statement about the Eagles being a contestant in the Superbowl.
Oh, and I’m never trusting Cam Newton’s arm again…

It’s still very early. Cam is kind of an unknown but he’ll put up more nice numbers. Desean will too…he was kinda slow last year but had some great games. Then the occasional one like last week where Vick only hit Maclin. He’ll get a couple returns for TDs though, and he’s still the #1 receiver so don’t drop him. McFadden is awesome…I picked him up early last year when someone dropped him as I had Ryan Grant go down in the first 5 minutes of the season. Run DMC put up great numbers…some were really absurd. He’s off to a great start this year.
I lost my 2 Yahoo games as I have only Romo in one, Vick didn’t produce in the other, forgot to hit submit from my lineup change in the second which would have given me a win, and both were without Jamaal Charles. The bright side is that I have a few unknowns really working it like Daniel Thomas. Glad I hung onto him.
On the other hand, I utterly DESTROYED in my ESPN league against my friend, 125-57. I scored the most points and he scored the least. Brady, Ravens D/ST, Run DMC, Mike Wallace all had phenomenal games, and Daniel Thomas did pretty good too. My brother and I are the only ones undefeated right now, and I hope to keep it that way, but I have Arian Foster, Miles Austin, and Knowshon Moreno all out for most of the season. I dropped Knowshon for Ryan Grant as I think he still has some ability.

i have 5 teams. my best record is 2/1

Worst week. Terrible game… Guess Freeman finally found his man card. That being said, someone just dropped David Nelson, and I’m not sure whether it’s better to pick him up or Jacoby Ford, who seems to have seized the starting spot in place of Moore.

I’m trading Washington Redskins for Minnesota and Carnell Williams. I don’t believe either one will have an outstanding game, perhaps Washington has the advantage, but I am confident Cadillac will rebound from his injury and I need him next week for bye.
I’m actually liking this setup, I just wished I knew how David Nelson is going to shape up. The other possibility is picking up the other Moore, the WR from Denver Broncos, but I’m not a big fan of Timmy’s arm (great guy, not great NFL QB).

My games haven’t been too great. I’m dying on my 12 team league because I don’t have a premier running back, but I’m stacked everywhere else. Plus the weird scoring has QBs, RBs, and WRs that have good games carrying the entire team. I’m trying to get a guy to trade me either Beanie Wells or Frank Gore for Dez Bryant or Dwayne Bowe, which would help and he needs a WR, but he’s currently in 1st place…
My 20 team league is ok. I’m doing decent despite what I thought was a crappy team. I could still use a good RB though, but so many people in the league it kind of balances everything out.
In my 8 team money league I’ve lost 2 straight and I’m in a 3 way tie for first. I lost my 2 games against the other two guys in 1st place. It’s been a bunch of crap because I have an elite lineup and guys haven’t produced, or I’ve had some crazy byes (both my QBs are out this week). Either way, I’m still confident in my team to be in the playoffs.

He’s still not throwing to Kellen Winslow though. :x :x :x I picked up Jacoby Ford and then dropped him when he was injured. Wish I had stuck with him because on return yards he’s getting great numbers, plus the occasional run back or pass for TD. He’s like a Devin Hester Lite (which I also have and is beast most of the time).

Not a bad trade, may help you out. The Vikings D is good but with the O so bad, it may be a wash. I’d just keep an eye out for people being dropped or impact players for a specific game. I do a lot of rotation on my benches between 2-4 guys each week. You have to put in research time though.
-
I went ahead and picked up TO in one of my leagues where I had the two main RBs for the Saints (dropped Pierre Thomas since Ingram gets all the TD runs) and didn’t see anything better. He may give me some trade value or may produce. Did it just for fun but we’ll see, and may do it in one of my other leagues. You might want to see if you can spare a slot for a couple of weeks, but I’m betting he’s on the field and creating points within a month.

Haha, I like this. I would love it if T.O. came back for more… Just hoping the Raiders don’t take him like they did Palmer.

Here’s my 38 point losing day. McFadden, Floyd, and Williams (who I wasn’t expecting a huge day, but was hoping) just bombed. Thomas was a good flex, nice points up. McFadden gets bye, so he’ll be healed, that is if I haven’t traded him by then. I am trying to get some juicy combos like Welker/Chris Johnson for Desean/McFadden.

I had Run DMC put up squat for me as well, but I also had Arian Foster he got me like 40, so it worked out.
In my 12 man league I lost again. Matt Cassell put up nearly nothing, Lynch went down, and someone else I can’t remember. I’m freaking 2-5 and about to unload my players to my buddy if I don’t win next week. I just can’t believe the team I drafted did this…
-
Last week was some of the worst individual performances I have seen in my life. I picked up Witten, CJ, and Welker for McFadden and Desean Jackson, a great trade except the individual stats aren’t adding up. Hopefully I’ll have a rebound this week. The saddest part is that it was against a 10-0 team and I could have beaten the dude, seriously!
GG
-
That’s a great trade, actually.
I’m in #1 place in my 8 man league but I will be losing this week, I’m sure. Everyone that can play (omitting 4 players from a bye and 2 from disabled list) is in except for my backup QB, and Eric Decker and Santonio Holmes put up a measly 3 points together. I couldn’t really pick up anyone of significance as I won by such a huge margin last week I was last in the waiver wire. I’m playing a guy who had lost most of the early season so was able to pick up Michael Bush, Demarco Murray, and some other mid-late breakout players. I’ll still be in first place no matter what, I just have to bounce back from it. The good thing is my last 3 games are from subpar teams and everyone tied for second plays each other. As long I don’t screw it up and get back injured players (DMC, Miles Austin) and don’t lose anyone, I’ll have a great team come playoff time.
My other 2 leagues are just kinda meh. Won some, lost some, nothign really to be done.
-
Well, I made it to the playoffs, despite a loss last week, and a rather atrocious one… Just look at my bench (I’m the one on the left). Gah. Well, I face the guy again next week, and I’ll pick up Denver and a better Kicker. I also am picking up the other WR opposite Percy Harvin and Demaryus Thomas. Can’t decide which of those characters will be better, or better than any of my current bench. Should still pull a win out.

So how did you end up doing, GG?
In my Yahoo leagues I didn’t really go anywhere, even though I thought the smaller league was a fantastic lineup. The larger one was just crazy all around.
In my espn league, I ended up squeaking by my brother for 1st seed. The guy I beat in the last week dropped to seed 4 so I had to play him the following two weeks too. My team was pretty stacked (even without Run DMC never coming back) because I had Arian Foster, Marshawn Lynch (who went off later in the season), Reggie Bush in his best year yet, and I picked up CJ Spiller when the Bills other RB went down. The cool thing about Spiller was that ESPN listed him as a WR as well, so I could put in 4 RBs per game (2 RBs positions, 1 RB/WR position, and then Spiller as a WR) and it really helped my score.
So I won the first playoff matchup and then had a pretty good matchup in weeks 16 and 17 for the championship. I sailed to a 35 point lead from week 16. Then craziness happened. I set my lineup around Friday because I knew New Years Eve was going to be busy (party, our first show, etc.). I had an hour on Sunday to fix my lineup before the games started. I found Arian Foster was sitting, Bush was out, my TE was out, and I had to swap a kicker that I just picked up. I wasn’t sure what to do with receivers because I couldn’t check everything on my phone so put Mike Wallace and Miles Austin in. My opponent put in Matt Flynn inexplicably and picked up KC Def versus Denver.
He caught up to me and my team did nothing. I had a lead of 193 to 192 when the second set of games was wrapping up, which would mean all his players were finished. In the last minute of the games, KC got a garbage time interception off Tebow and the Ravens gave up about 30 yards to drop another point (without saying anything our commishioner added negative points to D/ST that give up too much yardage, in addition to points). I was now trailing 194 to 192. With only Miles Austin left to play against a weak Giants D, I figured I was good.
Nope, Austin caught 2 passes for exactly 20 yards (slightly better than Mike Wallace, which after the fact I would not have put in had I known about Big Ben’s condition, where they were playing, the weather, etc.), just enough to tie the game.
I won on the tie breaker…I beat the guy twice in the regular season. Only thing left is to decide how money is split, which should have been done in the very beginning. Oh well…$120 or $140 coming my way…

Crap, that’s too awesome! Well, at least getting the money.
In my ESPN league (the one that I started 0-3) I ended 6-8 and I got invited back next year. Basically, for being my first year, I did pretty good managing the waiver wire. I had CJ Spiller, and I know, that was amazing having him as both WR and RB. I used him as a WR and I had Turner and MJD. It was awesome!
In my Yahoo league, I had a 7-6 regular season and made it to the playoffs (7th seed out of 16 total players). First week I slaughtered the 2nd seed, and I wasn’t supposed to win. Needless to say, Wes Welker + Percy Harvin + Chris Johnson all ran wild that week. Great game, totally shocked the whole group. Next week, I had a bad matchup against Aaron Rodgers, Rob Gronwkoski and Julio Jones. In my flex, I should have started Donald Brown (that was the week he had the 80 yard touchdown), but that still wouldn’t have won me the game. So, that loss took me to a battle for third place. I’ll post the results below. It was laughably hilarious how bad he failed on Sunday night. And what made it even better Brandon Lafell was on his bench. Needless to say, the commish gave me high marks for pulling up as far as I did for a rookie fantasy player. I’m the stats on the right…

I don’t play F.F but I live and breathe NFL football. Next season ask me about some players, Matt Cassell is at best an average qb. Put me on your general Staff.
