Can Japan move through usa waters when not at war with usa?

I think it comes down to a difference in style.

As Japan, I just expect from the start that I’ll leave that path open most of the time and plan accordingly (exceptions being turns where I am sending most of my force far away, like Calcutta).

I also missed the vote. I think a J4 is really good for a russia crush.

In a J4, you will build 3 mainland mIC, and pump out 9 mechs every round. China will fall fast, those troops can attack russia, and US will not be able to leave the US East Coast until US4, so the first possible landing in europe is on US5. That lets Germany produce alot more for the russian front and it means that south russia, cauc and the middle east should fall pretty nicely to the german hordes. It also means that Japan should be able to take most of east russia while prepearing for attacking everything on J4. That huge japanese land army is not that easy for UKP to stop.

Meaning US ships can stop in SZ’s 16, 18, 24, 23 before it is at war?

“Adjacent” means touching, so yes, that means in the seazone that touches a japanese controlled territory.  It does not mean seazone adjacent to the seazone that surrounds or touches a japanese territory.

So yes, 16, 18, 24, 23 are all ok for the US to hang out in.

Perhaps those that disagree with my position that the U.S. pre-war income is too high should check my proposed schedule under house rules. We played six rounds of Alpha+1 today using that schedule. The U.S. still gets the same amount of income just not as quick. I will post the results of the game so far as soon as I can take some photos. Probably tomorrow. The income schedule we used slowed down the U.S. a little but they are still putting a lot of pressure on the Japanese. Well more on that tomorrow.

Russia building a massive airforce then sinking the home fleet of Japan(mostly) allowing the USA to pretty much walk into the Japan and take it. Btw…Russia didn’t share this plan with the other allies they just did it lol.
