Yeah, thx for the reply. I won that game. I took out the allied fleet and they weren’t able to help Russia for a round so Germany took over Russia with Japan’s help from the other end.

Also, these alternate strategies are in direct response to specific opening moves by other nations and were posted as a way to “try something new” that also had the unique component of being so crazy as to be viable :-)

the main point in taking hawaii or alaska is to give the US that much less $$$. an often overlooked aspect of taking american land is SBR’s against the W/US. this can be done from alaska, hawaii, midway, etc. if Japan can get one or two bombers within range, the odds of getting shot down is minimal, and it helps if you have heavy bombers.

It’s a simple game :roll: made from a complex war.
The game has gone through it’s own evolution to be a GREAT GAME!
Try it your way a few times if you want.

But, it would benefit the Allies at UK sz and other places after that.

There are adjustments, then there is totally changing the game. Besides, what’s the point of making up a wild set of rules, playing that set of rules and getting good at it…… only to find nobody wants to play that way?

I’ve found that making even what you think are subtle changes can make a huge difference. Maybe it’s just me but even after all these years, each game takes on a life of it’s own after the first 2-3 rounds and often sooner.

The Japan isn’t the main problem. With a decent size Navy (2 hit BB’s hopefully) after Pearl Habor and maybe a buildup of some supporting ships (a few subs or destroyers), the Japanese can hold WUSA at bay even without blockading. However, it’s the German I’m more worried about only having subs and maybe a carrier to contend with).
