US Fleet to SZ 91 to stage
Land at Morocco or Gibraltar, and threaten Norway, Denmark, West Germany, Holland Belgum, Normandy Borduex.
On top of that you UTTERLY SHUT DOWN Italy
In range of South Italy and North Italy, as well as South France, Lybia, Algeria and Tunisia.
I dont think it should be one move from US to Gibraltar……as soon as the US is in the war it instantly can threaten germany and force italys hand to block in SZ 92, and protect SZ 95, and build defensive buys for their homeland.
Italy is shut off as soon as the US enters the war. This shuts the case for Japan waiting to begin offesive actions

lets pretend that the US cant reach Gibraltar…that it takes two moves to get there. Now imagine this post from some complainer:
" This sucks. The US cant get to N Africa until two turns after they are in the war. I mean,the game is broken. Why didnt the playtesters catch this? Now Italy can just run rampant all over Africa and the Allies cant do squat. There should be a blank in blank or we are going to have to use bids"

Italy cant trade Gibraltar with the Americans
20 IPCs vs ~1/2 of 80 IPCs
Im not crying about this, Im saying this is the logical best option for US. It turns italy retarded, and threatens all coastal german territories.
Lets say for east coast
US 1 is Carrier, Cruiser
US 2 is Destroyer, Battleship
US 3 is 3 Transport, 3 INFUS 4 Land at Gib or Morocco with 5 INF, 1 ART, 1 MEC, 1 ARM
Fleet is untouchable by italy, and threatens them into blocking with a unit at SZ 92, or trading fleets.
With US bomber support, a fleet trade will be in favor of the alliesTo win in Global 40, you need to take a page out of history……scare italy out of the war first.
You dont even need to invade, But a fleet poised to will put italy on the defensive and it will lose egypt

Germany takes Paris and N/B Round 1.
Germany builds all inf in Paris and N/B and stages for a G3 True Neutral Crush Round 2.
Germany performs True Neutral Crush and takes Spain with plenty of troops in range to reinforce through France on Round 3. Italy puts troops into Spain on its turn.
Germany takes Gibraltar Round 4 with plenty of troops to hold it. Italy lands even more troops/planes before the US’s turn.The US would have to commit a huge amount of resources to build enough transports and warships to cover all the fleet off Gibraltar. All the while, the fleet is in range of German U boat attacks from the Med from the minor IC in Yugoslavia and SZ 112/Baltic Sea.

But I might have found a way to counter it somewhat…:
- Have Germany (or Italy if possible) bomb the naval base really good in gibraltar every round. UK need to repair it, and that will put a strain on their economy.
- AND if the Italians bomb it also, the UK can not repair in time for the US to benefit from the naval base.
- THis is in germanys core interest, as i helps protect Denmark, Norway
- It slows US naval movement back to US significantly
- Italian areas are not that easily threathened
- US cannot move rapidly to UK either
Is it worth it? Let me hear your so-called 2 cents (which most of the time is several hundreds of bucks on these forums;)

HaukenBeen waiting for someone to put this out there…first game played = a big mess…2nd game played = italy fleet dead/us all over africa…3rd game = bombing the crap out of gib, US AA was there in a hurry though.

Dont need the AA. Each ‘Facility’ has inherent AA capability which, IMO, makes bombing them not the best use of resources…

Also, 12 IPCs is a lot for Italy to spend. It won’t have enough money until turn 2 at least, and at that point there’s more useful units they could buy. Even if you do get the bomber out, it’s going to need somewhere to land that’s defensible, which is probably going to be French North Africa.

You fly back and forth from Southern France, as Germany and or Italy.
If Germany does main damage, Italy can follow up. Ofcourse there is the possibility of losing av bomber now and then. But after all, it is was, and things get destroyed. Would you rather sit and wait and build Infantery in Southern France, Northern Italy and Southern Italy. And Greece, Albania, Yugoslavia? If you let them too easily in there, it will be a MESS!

What stops US or UK placing 4-5 fighters in Gibraltar. Each would roll a 2 vs a 1 the escorting fighters if any(lack range i think) might get. Each Bombing raid would cost the attacker 1-2 bombers from defending fighters before you roll AA.
