Commando Brado, wow this was a bad predicament to be in. I’m assuming that Japan was in allied hands and this was a last ditch effort to get it back (it gets one turn to do so). Boy did you get screwed by not having any ships that could take out those US subs, or force them to submerge. I didn’t think much of the a/c not having an attack value any more til now.

Edit: The only other scenario I could see where you would want to bring Jap transports into sz 6 combat is you still have Japan, and are trying to liberate Korea.

Yes, damaged battleships can bombard.

A single attacking warship (or any unit with an attack value of 1+) in a sea zone with just enemy transports will destroy all the transports. The undefended transports rule is there so you don’t have to keep rolling the dice to finish a battle that has only one possible outcome - the destruction of all the transports.

You can keep hitting them, but they can’t hit you back. It might take you ten additional rounds of combat, but eventually you will roll the number of hits needed. No point rolling the dice, just remove the transports.

There are rules that list what happens when a facility becomes inoperable. losing their AA ability isn’t on the list, they still have it.

That’s what I was assuming but for some reason it seemed odd. Compared to the old AAP, it gives the Brits/ANZAC a bit of an advantage over the Japanese.
